Congratulations Jenna Becker on being named Player of the Year for the third year in a row! This powerhouse pitcher is well-known in the 4A division for delivering a one-two punch on both sides of the game. This year was no different as Jenna has a better record as a starting pitcher than any other in the division, going 14-5, with 1.99 ERA and 178 strikeouts (9.3 strikeouts per game). In addition to her work in the circle, this was the first year Jenna was able to contribute putouts in multiple positions — first, second, short, leftfield, center, and even catcher in an emergency (a position she has never played) — with a .961 FP and 6-time Player of the Game. At the plate, she also did damage with a .624 AVG./1.047 SLG. overall (.633 AVG./1.267 SLG. in league), including 12 doubles, 9 triples, and two home runs. She also stole more than 20 bases. She is nationally ranked at #350 for total runs, #382 nationally for batting ( #13 in state, #2 in 4A), #9 in the state ( #1 in 4A) for strikeouts, #1 in 4A for a 1.99 ERA, #1 in 4A for stolen bases. Congratulations Jenna, and thank you for your contributions in starting this program three years ago!

Congratulations Lexi Hernandez! This is the second year in a row that her teammates have selected her for the Leadership Award. Once again, this relatively novice softball player surprised everyone (including herself) by earning her place as a starting shortstop, where she contributed double-digit putouts and one double play. More than that, she improved her batting average this year, a respectable .255 AVG., including two doubles. Always a positive presence on the field and off, Lexi is known for keeping the team morale up regardless of the score, helping everyone stay in the moment by calling out the next play and cheering them on. She is the first to tell the team to let an error go and just focus on getting the next one! They often did. Amazing!

Congratulations Megan Upp for being named Rookie of the Year! This all-around athlete showed her stuff on the rubber as a relief pitcher, starting a few games and striking out 46 batters along the way. She was equally effective in other positions, playing first, second, and every outfield position during the season with a .938 FP and being part of one double play. Even more than her defensive work, Megan was extremely effective at the plate with a .456 AVG./.720 SLG. season, including two doubles, three triples, and her first infield high school home run. There is no doubt Megan will be a player to watch in the years ahead!

Congratulations, Gabby Rodriguez on earning Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row! Gabby finished this season with a .602 AVG./ .987 SLG. (.778 AVG./1.037 SLG. in league), including 11 doubles and 7 home runs, which tied the overall in-season record set last year. Where she really shined at the plate was in racking up 53 RBIs this season, placing her #7 for RBIs in the state and #182 in RBIs in the nation. While starting the year as a designated hitter to protect her from a shoulder injury, Gabby came in to play first base for the remainder of the season. Her first base work, along with her bat, contributed to her earning Player of the Game four times this year. She was written up several times by the Las Vegas Review-Journal! Great job!

Congrats to Alyssa Marshall! This junior, who was named Most Improved Player of the Year as a centerfielder last year, was challenged to step up and become a starting catcher this year. She started catching lessons in September 2023 and became very effective behind the plate, partly responsible for 202 putouts this season while maintaining a .972 FP. While chosen for her defensive play, Aly was also effective at the plate with .263 AVG. this season (.310 AVG. in league), including two doubles and a triple. Alyssa Marshall is the Defensive Player of the Year! Great job!

Congratulations Annalisse Echavarria! She truly found her stride midway through the season, moving to third base from the outfield. She finished the season with a .255 AVG. (.317 AVG. in league), including two doubles and three triples — hitting her best against some of the toughest pitchers in the 4A division. She also was part of a double play from third base this year and learned how to shut down a small ball game. Always a positive presence, Annalisse is the Most Improved Player of the Year!

Congratulations Tori Lopez for being chosen for the Spirit Award by her teammates for the third year in a row. Tori consistently maintains an upbeat attitude and always encourages others to do their best. Once, she even told her coach that she hoped not to play, simply because that meant everybody was doing their job. When she did play, she gave it her all. She finished this season with a .222 AVG. and .588 OBP. This included two hits, six walks, and five hit-by-pitches. She played right field in 18 games, more than any other season.
