Stay hydrated, folks. If you become dehydrated, your body cannot process more than about 1 quart per hour. If you drink more than 1 quart of water per hour, you may be putting yourself at risk for hyponatremia (lack of sodium), which can be deadly. Sport drinks contain sodium, but your body can still process only about 1 quart per hour. So, stay hydrated, drink plenty of water, but not too much. Also, good hydration starts the day before you expect to put your body through strenuous activity. It’s hard to catch up after you’ve fallen behind.
