People pretending to be a Maoshan Sifu vs. the Real Sifus of Maoshan Tao. It is not Lashon Hara when warning people to beware of being cheated out of their money or following those claiming to be someone they are not to the detriment of their followers. It was brought to my attention that I taught a student many years ago when I was a beginner. I had asked the real Maoshan Tao Sifus at the time Sifu Patrick Moon (pictured to the left) and Sifu Andrew Lum (GREAT Grand Master: see website) for permission to teach this sacred art. The purpose was to have someone to train with knowing that I was a beginner. Strict guidelines in Maoshan Tao training were observed. Mike Denny (pictured of the left) was learning when I was just a beginner. I had no rank and no status. I had impressed this upon my student back in the early 1990s and never pretended to be an expert. I had sent my students to Hawaii to meet the real Maoshan Tao masters. I never even pretended to be a Maoshan Tao master as I returned to Hawaii many times for weeks to continue my Maoshan Tao studies. MICHAEL DENNY(aka YT [thunderwizard.com]) opened classes without permission which shocked the Maoshan Tao masters and students in Hawaii. The Maoshan Tao students in Hawaii were ready to come to Los Angeles to take care of business with Michael Denny. Note as Maoshan Tao students, we were not allowed to video the Maoshan Tao masters. This was not allowed. Instead Sifu Patrick Moon, then a Maoshan Tao master came to visit Michael Denny and "spanked" Michael Denny like a child for almost 30 minutes during class for starting classes without permission.
Please know that the path to a Maoshan Tao Sifu is very difficult and requires much sacrifice most people are not willing to make. STOLEN VALOR by Michael Denny pretending to be a Maoshan master and shaman in exchange of compromising the integrity of Maoshan Tao is WORST then someone claiming to be a Army Delta Unit Operative or Navy SEAL Team 6, who only joined the Boy Scouts is a complete disgrace. When Sifu Patrick Moon "spanked" Mike Denny by showing Mike the real Maoshan Tao, Mike abandon his class and students, running away. I asked Mike Denny to do "teshuva"/make amends and come back to the Maoshan Tao community. Mike was so frightened and confuse, shortly after he left the state. What Mike Denny went through with Sifu/Sijyo Patrick Moon is something all serious Maoshan Tao students have been through. It is part of training and nothing personal. It only became personal when breaking Maoshan Tao protocols and code of ethics to profiteer off Maoshan Tao in ways that would disgrace the art of Maoshan Tao and those who have studies and practiced so hard to keep the integrity of Maoshan Tao since 300 B.C. As is mentioned on our Home Page of our website, the strict selection process has made it very difficult for the average person to advance. We have called for those who are above average in their dedication to martial arts to come learn with us. We do realize in this strict selection process, many have been taught Maoshan Tao forms as a way to preserve this art, without the level of a Sifu. Some have taken advantage of the small numbers, pretending to be a Maoshan Tao Sifu who really don't know and do not have the dedication and passion for this art. The most senior Sifu, who is a Sijyo will turn 80 years old this coming April 2023. When the Grand Master Sijyo turns 80, a decision will be made how Maoshan Tao will continue as the Greatest Grand Master since 1957, Sijyo Andrew Lum passed away in 2018.

Pathfinder, thank you for your post. Pathfinder is an excellent Medicine Man! It is difficult to define exactly what he does as he covers a broad range of topics. Don't mistake a "medicine man" for what you see in cowboy movies as even the description of "cowboys" is very much misinterpreted in movies. Slowly I am building a base and trying to use FB as a hub. To answer a question from Stefan Trip who is very Excellent in Taekwondo with thousands in his Taekwondo community in Germany! STEFAN'S QUESTION: "Why or how did the student freak out?" in the Maoshan classes when going for an advance level? Stefan is also a FRIEND of Maoshan. Both of us taught at the same time in Virginia. Stefan taught Taekwondo while I taught Maoshan.

The first person quit "Sifu Training" after the first few weeks. He decided the program is too rough. The 2nd student quit "Sifu Training" in the first 2 hours. The last person was from Virginia quit one week before he was to start "Sifu Training" Because Maoshan is a metaphysical martial art and not considered physical. There are only 3 ranks, 1) Student 2) Sifu - this can take up to 15 years or longer. 3) Grand Master which takes even longer. The two routes are 1) Sijyo - invent your own style of martial arts based on Maoshan. 2) Laoshi -using powers of Maoshan to heal people.

Both Sijyo and Laoshi are superb fighters. I went the route of Laoshi -healing people. Both Sijyo and Laoshi are taught by the spirits and not by humans. In China, the Laoshi(doctor) is more respected as healer helps more people than fighting. I know this is completely different than any martial arts👀 The goal of Maoshan was never to fight humans, rather evil spirits. It works well on humans the same way it works on evil spirits(see first Post below, one of many individuals helped with spirit possession). In advance stages a Sifu can create a haunted environment where someone who wants to become a Sifu must overcome their fears of being haunted. The positive aspect, the Maoshan Sifu or Grand Master does not put a curse on the students. Even though the person in training to be Sifu must overcome. Thus far only 3 Sifus have this rank. Andrew Lum, who was the top Grand Master died in 2018. So there are only 2 Grand Masters left. Myself and a person living in Hawaii. The person in Hawaii will be 80 years old and no longer teaching. The reason why I created the website and the FB page, if anyone can continue the lineage with the proper intent and dedication to training. Right now there is only 1 more "Sifu candidate" that I am training. If he fails his Sifu training, then Maoshan will be a lost martial art. Maoshan was started in 300BC, but this art can go extinct if no one else can make Sifu before my colleague in Hawaii or myself pass away. In China, the Maoshan art is already lost. So I am reaching out to other who have a martial arts background who are not afraid of paranormal experiences and hard training to continue this almost extinct martial art, Maoshan Tao. My two seniors registered Maoshan Tao as verified in existence to the State of Hawaii and City of Honolulu. This was to make sure that people knew where to find this ancient lineage. Due to the rigors of training, washout rate for Sifus has been high. Only 3 Sifus selected since 1957. Maoshan Tao is considered on of the most powerful martial arts founded in 400 BC. Due to the strict nature of this art and misconception of evil spirits vs. good spirits, many have feared this art. Fighting an embodied human is not difficult, fighting against an evil spirit more challenging. If you are able to fight evil spirits at a high level as a practitioner, a human is not difficult.
