Competed with Horizon on Battlebots WCVII! Competing with Calypso at Battlebots Face-Offs!

09/14/2026

Calypso’s Pro League story has come to a close, but what a story it was!! 🦀💕

Just to start off, congratulations to Terrortops Battlebot for clinching the first wildcard spot in the knockout round! That team has put in SO MUCH WORK to become one of the best in the current heavyweight field, and we couldn’t be happier that their hard work is paying off.

That said, if you would’ve told us before filming that WE were going to challenge them for that wildcard spot, we wouldn’t have believed you. We imagined that, at most, we would get the opportunity to fight one of the Destruct-a-thon show bots. Instead, we took over for Tombstone, and in 2 swift knockouts, went from undesirable to undeniable AND undefeated!!! 🤩🤩
Thank you SO MUCH to all of you who’ve decided to join the Crustacean Nation this year! The support we’ve seen for the bot following Episode 10 and 11 has been incredible, and we couldn’t be happier with what we were able to accomplish with the time we had. We love you all so much, and can’t wait to show you guys what we have coming up… ! 🦀💕

SPOILER WARNING FOR CALYPSO VS MAGNITUDE!!! IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE LATEST EPISODE OF PRO LEAGUE, DO SO NOW!!!

🦀🦀🦀

Do we have your attention now? 👀
Magnitude - BattleBots is a scary bot. No question. They’re a Giant Washer winner for a reason. Chad New and Luke Quin are a scary pair, as proven during Copperhead’s WCVII run. Calypso, however, just proved that it can hang with one of the scarier bots in Pro League, AND knock them out convincingly! 🦀

After the fight, we were shocked to find that we’d sustained fairly minimal damage. One of our forks got twisted, one of the UHMW rollers on the eye stalks was clipped slightly, some of the tread on one of our rear tires was ripped, and we’d gained one of Magnitude’s decals somehow! Outside of that, however, Calypso’s pretty much ready to fight again!

We’re crossing our fingers, hoping that Disarray can pull off the upset victory over Mad Catter, but even if they don’t, ending the group stage undefeated will surely keep eyes on us moving forward!!!

What happens next for us? Have we done enough to keep moving forward to the knock-out round? Is there another way for us to make it through if we don’t? All of this and more will be coming up… ! 🦀💕

SPOILERS AHEAD! WATCH EPISODE 5 OF PRO LEAGUE! 🦀🦀🦀

Just when you thought BattleBots Pro League couldn’t get any more unpredictable, Calypso joins the battle against Disarray, from the wonderful folks at Wildcat Robotics!!! 🤩🦀

After a very… middling debut at Faceoffs, and a second performance that we can’t even talk about yet, Calypso came into Pro League with a lot to prove, and no guarantee that we would have a chance to prove it.

Despite a limited amount of time to work on the robot, we made sure that we were ready to fight for every filming session, on the off chance that someone would need to drop out. We put brand new, custom weapon speed controllers from Chiralight in the bot, and we were spinning up like a DREAM. 💭 If we had the chance to fight, we were going to be a menace!

Then, suddenly, that IF disappeared. Tombstone had to drop out, and WE had to fill in! (No pressure!)
Knowing that we had massive shoes to fill, we went into this fight ready to prove that we’re more than an alternate! We’re the real deal!! 💪😤

Though Disarray proved itself to be incredibly tough during its fight against Magnitude, we were able to disable its drive early on, get it flipped over, and wreak havoc on its self-righter and right side until they tapped out! A quick and efficient statement win for the crab, catapulting us to the top of the Group B leaderboard! 🦀🦀🦀

Calypso scuttled away from that fight pretty much unscathed, taking home one of Disarray’s broken wheels, and a mangled piece of their name plate from their top armor.

Our next fight is against Magnitude… keep your eyes , because you won’t wanna miss any of the ground-shaking action!!! 💕🦀

Rapid Axis took the gamble on us both, will they win big with Jackpot’s Pro League debut??? 🎰🎰🎰

Find out TODAY at 1:00 PM PST!!!

Rapid Axis have been one of our ride-or-die sponsors since WCVII, always helping us bring our crazy ideas to life with their incredibly high-quality machined parts. When Jeff told us he was looking to have more machined parts on this new version of Jackpot, it was a no-brainer for us to recommend Rapid Axis. If Calypso wasn’t going to be in the main competition, we wanted them to be represented by a team unafraid to push boundaries, and who we knew would best take advantage of what Rapid Axis has to offer. That’s Jackpot, baby!!! ❤️❤️❤️🎰🎰🎰

So, what do you think? Will Copperhead get de-fanged? Or will Jackpot end up rolling snake eyes? The answer will be coming up… .

PUT US IN, COACH!!! Calypso’s ready and raring to go! Just listen to that crab… purr? (We might need to workshop that one.)
As one of the few alternates for Pro League, we have to be ready and willing to fight at any moment!
Whether or not we end up fighting remains to be seen, but it could be coming up… 🦀🦀🦀
