We spent a week exploring Gettysburg Pennsylvania. Oh the things this land must have seen! The Battle of Gettysburg didn’t just happen on the huge battlefield, there are monuments and tributes everywhere in the area! We visited a Round Barn built in 1914, downtown Gettysburg, and the National Cemetery where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address.

Stopped for gas in New Hampshire, last place to use the Open Roads discount! Saved $80 after their 10% fee.

We spent the day at Mount Vernon, the home of George and Martha Washington. It has been a very neat experience. It was originally about 8,000 acres and is now 500 acres. There are 2 beautiful gardens and a working farm. The mansion and outbuildings have been restored and the original banister in the house is there. Imagine running your hand along a banister that one of our founding fathers did and walking in the same footsteps he did, along with many others. So cool to think about!
