Northern Region Senior Golfers Step Up to Win Titles

Michael Dillon (Senior Scratch), Andrew Novotak (Senior Net), George Muhar (Senior Silver Scratch 60-Plus), Mike Lenzi (Senior Silver Net 60-Plus) and Richard Florez (Senior Gold Net) won men’s titles in the 2026 Northern Nevada Senior Amateur.

Jeanmarie Walsh (Gross) and Carrie Kenton (Net) were the women’s champions in the Nevada Golf Northern Region tournament held Aug. 29-30, 2026, at Sierra Sage Golf Course.

SENIOR CHAMPS CROWNED at Dayton Valley Senior

David Hashimoto (Senior Scratch), Damon Rogers (Senior Net), Sheldon Kop (Senior Silver Scratch 60-Plus), Shaun Benninghove (Senior Silver Net 60-Plus) and Alan Krogness (Senior Gold Net 70-Plus) won men’s titles in the 2026 Dayton Valley Senior. April Higuera (Gross) and Cindy Fladager (Net) won women’s titles in the one-day Northern Region event held Aug. 27, 2026 at Dayton Valley Golf Club.

THREE EARN SPOTS INTO 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur after Boulder Creek qualifier

Matt Mitchell (Medalist), Trey Sanders and Bryan Baird earned spots into the 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur. The trio advanced in a one-day qualifier that was held Aug. 26, 2026, over Boulder Creek Golf Club’s Desert Hawk and Coyote Run nines. They each move on to the championship event which will be held Sept. 26-Oct. 1, 2026, at the Sand Valley Resort in Nekoosa, Wisconsin.
