Monday nights at the Las Vegas Capoeira Academy 🔥

Working on a clean and effective sequence: entering the vingativa off a counter to armada, followed by a simple but powerful exit from the takedown. This falls directly into the category of “simple… not easy.” The movement may look straightforward, but timing, balance, control, and awareness are everything.

In this video, Contramestre Viajante works through the sequence with visiting student Folha Seca, focusing on efficiency, flow, and practical application inside the game of Capoeira.

One of the beautiful things about Capoeira is that the deeper you go, the more you realize the fundamentals never stop evolving. Axé! ⚡️

What a great surprise to finish our our Grupo Liberdade De Capoeira - Las Vegas Batizado & Trocal De Cordel Vol. V! 🤯 An achievement few will ever know or experience. 💯 This one was earned. My first public promotion in 12 years - Instrutor was received in Brasil in 2016, and Professor received online in 2020 during Covid.

23 years learning Capoeira. 20 years in our Grupo Liberdade De Capoeira, almost 6 as a Professor of Capoeira. Countless hours of hard work, many students come and gone, money spent, different locations we’ve been through as a group, lots of friends along the way.

I am beyond honored to be recognized by our community especially those teachers in attendance Mestre Omi , Mestre Versatil , Mestre Xangô , Mestra Amazonas , Contramestre Macaco, and Professor Esperança . And of course ultimately the trust, confidence, and vision of meu Mestre, Mestre Cigano .

I am very proud of this new title of Contramestre and do not take it lightly! It is a rank I intend to valorize as we grow our group and program here in Las Vegas. The best is truly yet to come! Salve Capoeira!

One of the best moments for me from our Grupo Liberdade De Capoeira - Las Vegas Batizado & Troca De Cordel Vol V April 11, 2026 - my oldest daughter Aurora Shalom aka Beija Flor, receiving her first cord. After over a year in our “Capoeira Building Blocks” class we graduated our first group of Capoeira littles - ages 2-7, who were part of this program.
