TRUTH πππ I do NOT like to shop for clothes. π£ Or at least I used to....ππππ
For almost a decade, I would buy clothes only because I HAD TO. My outlook.... "Why should I even try to look cute? I'm not, I don't look good in anything, I'm so fat and ugly, nothing fits me....no sense in it." So I would buy the most descent-looking-frumpy clothes to try to hide the body I was ashamed of.
πππ Does this sound familiar??? If it does, my heart goes out to you. You are worth so much more than what that voice in your head is telling you. You can do all the things you dream of. YOU HAVE THE POWER WITHIN YOU. Not from a pill, wrap, significant other, "diet", doctor, surgery, and so on.... Sometimes it just takes a little bit of work to unearth that courage and power. But you can do it. I did it. So can YOU.
On a side note, yesterday was the first time in over a decade that I actually was like "DAAAAMN!!!" looking in the mirror! πππ I even put on a pair of pants that were a size 8. That hasn't happened in over a decade either.
Take home message....BELIEVE that you are worth it, because you are, TAKE the chance on a new way of life, EMBRACE the journey, LOVE yourself, and ENJOY the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Seriously, this has been my addiction for the past few months. I took out the brown rice pasta, so now its this deliciously spicy, comforting bowl of chicken and vegetables. My favorite part??? The KALE, of course. I put it in raw and just let the residual heat of the broth slightly wily it. Yuuuummm...

Taking a snack break! I know this isn't the most flattering presentation, BUT...it is OUT OF THIS WORLD DELISH! A roasted sweet potato with my HOMEMADE & SQUEAKY CLEAN Cinnamon Pecan Butter. I mean, holy moly...What are your favorite clean snacks???

Taking a moment or two to get my daily dose of vitamin D! Yes, your skin produces LOTS of vitamin D when exposed to the sun (in moderation!!!)
Are you vitamin D defiecient? If you don't know, get it checked. It is one on the MOST COMMON vitamin deficiencies, so don't be surprised if you are. I am. And I'm working on it today with these water babies!!!

Don't go without roasting yer NUTS!!! ππ°π°π° Pecans and almonds are a STAPLE in my diet. I buy them raw and unsalted, but the MAGICππ happens when you ROAST them. Just preheat your oven on to 350Β°, and bake for 10-15 minutes until the kitchen begins to fill with the delicious nutty aroma. Remove, cool, and store for snacking and recipes! I turn my pecans into cinnamon pecan butter (TO DIE FOR. Seriously to all you peanut butter lovers!), and I love my almonds with dried cranberries for a snack. π΄

So, I volunteered to be my own guinea pig. Yes, I have been put to the test, and have 2 more days to go. So what's the big test??? Well, as many of you know I am a HUUUGE advocate for fitness and nutrition, ESPECIALLY antiinflammatory/gluten free/autoimmune eating, and my goal is to put together my OWN 30 day program, including a cookbook, tools, tips, tricks, and 24/7 support. Things that I have noticed in just a week and a half:
βMy annoying, ever so DIFFICULT ADULT, HORMONAL ACNE has CHILLED THE heck out...This is a MAKEUP-LESS AND FILTER-LESS SELFIE! I ALWAYS use filters!
βMy guts are HAPPY! No bloating, irritability, discomfort. Just cool, calm REGULARITY. π© LOL
β Energy level is increased and MAINTAINED!
βFatigue and brain fog are dowwwwn, thank GOD!
βAnd importantly, but NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT, I dropped 5 lbs. Yes, loosing weight is NOT the most important outcome. FEELING GOOD is!!!

So, I'm flexing and checking out my abs in the mirror, okayyy (just admit that you do it, too πππͺ). Excitedly, I tell this girl, "HEY! CHECK OUT THESE AB MUSCLES!" You know what she says???? "What, a 2-pack?!?!?!" π¬π‘π π How in the hell does she even know what a "2-pack" is???

Do you tend to crave SWEETS or SAVORY in the morning??? I, hands DOWN π, crave sweets in the a.m. But when you're trying to reduce your amount of carbs (aka SUGAR on STEROIDS πͺπͺπͺ), sweets aren't the best option. So eggs are a great way to enjoy a healthy balanced breakfast, and the options are LIMITLESS on what you prepare them with! I made a healthier spin on the Denver omelette today. When going for BALANCE in your diet, ALWAYS keep in mind:

πHEALTHY carbs (veggies) β
πHEALTHY fats (avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, etc)
π³Fiber (levels out blood sugar, keeps things moving, if you know what I mean π©π)

Let me get real with ya for a moment...
I seriously need to check myself before I WREAK MYSELF, nutritionally speaking. During the last few days, I have consumed all of the following:
π¬M&Ms
πPepperoni pizza
π¦Ice cream
πFried potatoes
πWaffles with FAKE maple syrup
π½Nacho Cheese Doritos
π΅Diet Dr. Pepper
Annnnd on, and on, and on.

No, I am not perfect and will NEVER claim to be. I am human, and I struggle just like everyone else. BUT... when I see myself getting out of control, I know its time to do something about it. And, coincidentally, a couple of others were up for the challenge ASAP.
So I ask you, WHY NOT NOW?!?! Well, starting tomorrow, actually. Lol It will be a FREE 7 day challenge, utilizing a private Facebook group. There will be daily challenges, and you will be encouraged to share, post, ask, offer, support, etc! It is a great way to stay motivated, have accountability, and get all the support you need to get back on track!
