Another one in the books… truly no place like it in the 🌎.
Shallowing the club early in transition… does it promote being “stuck” or “under plane” at the bottom? 🤔
Last night on the Golf Channel, Brandel Chamblee made the argument that Jack Nicklaus did not shallow the club in transition. That he was “on top of the plane” coming down and that is what allowed him to hit “hold off cuts with the ball above his feet at Augusta”.
I would argue that Jack did the exact opposite of what Brandel says….
While Jack’s position at the top (across the line with limited depth) put him in a steep position early in transition, every move his body made on the way to the ball was a shallowing element.
1. Pelvis thrust toward the ball (some say early extension).
2. Linear sway of the pelvis (some say hip slide)
3. Extension of the spine thru impact and into the follow thru (big reverse C finish).
If Jack would have ever been “on top of the plane” with the ball above his feet at Augusta, he would have never found his golf ball because he would have hit it so far left!
Be careful where you source your information 😜
Great couple of days of work with my man . His game is getting so sharp 🔪
