I'm a professional rock climber. Oh yeah, i'm also blind. My goal is to inspire and motivate others

You’re my best friend, love of my life, and my most trusted partner. It has been a great honor to spend another year going around the sun with you my dear April.

I love you more than life itself. Happy birthday my wife!

Before you, I knew Him.

I would always pray to be with you. But I didn’t know who you were yet.

That all changed the day we met.

The first time we danced,

The first time we told each other “I love you” in the hospital.

Our first trip together.

We’ve been through some of the most challenging times together, and our love for each other only grew.

Now there is a place in my heart only you can go,

this place, only you know.

Before I knew, it was always you.

Getting back to my southern roots with these sick overalls.

I used to wear things like this growing up in Oklahoma, but this is the first time I’ve put on the ol’ “oves” again and thought; “dang, these are dope.”

and I went out to get some marketing content photos, and needless to say, the session was a success!

Stoked to share these with you all over the coming weeks.

Big throws from underclings always make for some sick photos!

Red Rock season is getting close! It’s still been in the high 70’s & 80’s F, this October and now into November.

So while it’s still a little too warm for limit projects I’ve been having a good season so far cleaning up moderates and exploring new zones.

Been surprising myself with some solid sends of climbs I used to think were condition dependent. I guess all the board training has been paying off!

Stoked to try some of the real hard rigs when the wheather is a little cooler.

Error correction V9 -

This rig turned out to be more enjoyable than I had thought it was going to be. It’s not like I thought it was going to be crap from the get-go, but lines this low to the ground typically don’t get me stoked if half the battle is trying not to dab.

Originally graded at v10, new knee-bar beta has augmented the beta for the first 3 moves and subsequently the grade.

This one feels like a low end V9 to me based on the other 8’s and 9’s I’ve done recently.

Whatever the case, put your power endurance hat on for this one!

No footy, but .wolfe2 got a photo

If I’m climbing alone, downloading the map mentally can take a while. The process is long and demanding. Finding holds, trying moves, locating holds and feet, and memorizing. I’m always grateful for any guidance on the rock. It’s interesting to me how each person approaches sight-guiding. Any information, period, is super valuable; knowing what direction the line goes, where the grips are, what holds could be challenging, where I might find a rest, and more, are all questions I ask those around me before I give’er a rip. Some know me well and understand what information I need at any moment while I climb; moreover, they know how I prefer to climb and what positions I like to be in. It usually takes some time to build the comradery and confidence of both players to excel in this spontaneous partnership. And then there are those who are so gifted at climbing they can pick up the nuances of calling immediately. Reading the line, understanding what box the climber needs to be in, and how to get them into that position verbally, talking through the micro beta on the fly, and keeping the information flowing without skipping a beat is high-level stuff for a caller. On the other hand, not every strong climber makes a good caller; maybe it’s the pressure of knowing that my success somewhat depends on the information they are delivering to me. This can be expressed in various ways, like frantic beta spraying that is out of context or irrelevant information to what I’m doing in the moment. Climbing with for the first time, it was obvious that he had dialed it without any previous conversation regarding the process. The homie has a depth of knowledge and can articulate it easily, showing a true understanding of movement and how to apply it. Good times out at the Bishop Craggin’ Classic! Thanks, , for getting us out there, and to , for shooting all the spectacular photos!

This past season has been the toughest phase of my life. I have unraveled physically, mentally, and emotionally, and now I’m just trying to be okay. But for now, I’m realizing that it’s okay not to be okay for some time. Small victories are becoming more relevant as my body starts turning back on. It’s humbling for sure, but rewarding to come back quickly and seemingly better than before. shot these from the subway cave a few weeks ago of me memorizing the moves on Drowned and Derailed.
