I attended the Firefighter Health and Safety Conference and here in the main slide from the PFAS day. The main points for me are as follows:

1- You are not going to eliminate PFAS, it is all over the place.

2- The trade off of eliminating PFAS in your turnout gear could be worse than the limited amount of PFAS in the moisture barrier.

3- LIMIT your time in the structural gear. Do not wear it to do physical training, do not wear it on medical calls, do not wear it on vehicle accidents, do wear it on fires and possible fires.

4- Think about buying firefighters dual cert gear for medical calls and vehicle accidents.
