When it comes to hanging a hammock, cord > thin string 🌳🏕️
Thin string can dig into the bark, cut into the tree’s protective layer, and cause long-term damage. A thicker cord (or better yet, tree straps) spreads the weight out evenly, reducing pressure and protecting the bark.
Healthier trees = better campsites for everyone. Always think Leave No Trace.

When there’s no tree around, a solid rock can save your Ratsack 🏕️
Tying it to a heavy rock keeps your food off the ground, away from rodents, and from getting dragged off during the night. It also helps contain smells and protects wildlife from getting into human food. Just make sure the rock is big enough that it can’t be moved.
