Awesome weekend being the first and only woman in the Men’s first annual
Champions Cup.
I played for the Blue team in a 2 day Ryder Cup tournament. I went 3-0 in my matches as did my partner and we were the only ones to do so on either team!
I won my singles match 5up with 3 holes left. made a birdie first hole worth $75 as a skin and $250 for the team win! PGA National

So if you ever have an opportunity to come to PGA National in West Palm Beach, see Mike D’Orazio at Cool Clubs. He’s very good at fitting you for the right clubs! I have gained an extra 20yrds on my iron shots!

Very awesome experience to attend the Solheim Cup! If you can’t make one overseas then go to 2021 in the US. It’s being held in Toledo OH.

So now to local courses here in Massachusetts.
Today I played Bay Club in Mattapoisett. This is a private course, if you have a opportunity to play it you should. The course is certified by Audubon Society. The slope is 124 from the red tees. I was able to shoot a 89, embarrassingly with 3 eights on my card, so I was adjusted to a 86. Very open fairways, lots of fescue that has not yet popped up. This a pretty New England course.

So I know it’s been awhile. A few weeks ago I was in Scottsdale AZ. Played a lot of golf.
So this is a course I would never play again. The starter for the course was awesome, this review is not about the staff. This Poor review is based on the course!
Anthem Golf & Country Club Ironwood course, was horrible! Take the tough Bermuda rough & make it dead. This was the roughs condition, and then some of the fairways appeared to be painted green. Yes painted green. The ball was not sitting on lush fairways, it was hard pan. Now add a crap load of bunkers that were not really sandy. I would never play this course ever again!
The Red tees slope was 123, and length was 5405 yards.

So I’m in Arizona this week playing some beautiful courses. Played Troon Norths Monument course this is a fabulous course. I played it last year the last week of June in 100 degree weather. It is always lush & green with some gorgeous views. It is a difficult course. Don’t let the slope of 116 from the teal markers fool you. I would definitely suggest your first time playing take a caddie. Once you play it, you’ll know your target’s on the course to avoid trouble. Let me say there is lots of trouble. At this time of year you’ll need to be careful of Rattlesnakes! That being said; it has become my favorite to play in Scottsdale!

So update on the pro-am tournament. We were bit in the Butt by the Teeth of the Dog Course! l will say a very beautiful course & layout. The resort was great, there is everything to do. If you bring non golfers it will be a great time. This is a definite girls trip golf location! It is a challenge when the wind is blowing, but the views are worth losing a few golf balls! Fabulous restaurants, and a can’t go wrong resort at Casa de Campo!

The Dye Fore course was great. It’s a 115 slope for the ladies from the red tees. Don’t let that fool you.
It’s a course I find similar to Woods Hole country club with the blind shot holes & rolling hills. As well as Eastward Ho country club in Chatham Mass. If you have the right caddies they’ll set you up for your tee shot to approach shots.
Currently we are tied for 4th in net for the tournament & tied for 3rd in the gross division.

So playing in the PGA Magazine women leader Pro-Am tournament this week at Casa de Campo.
We had LPGA Heather Angell & Mary Hafeman a former LPGA Tour player give us a clinic.
The one thing that I found to be helpful for golfers was the practice tee warmup strategy.
We should if we are playing a familiar course treat the warmup as if your playing the first 3 holes. So if you hit driver then pull out the next club you would use to get the hole if that’s a 9 iron or pitching wedge. So you work your bag .
