Well, it’s finally that time. Time to start bowling again! It has been 1 year and 7 months since our league has bowled together.

On Wednesday, September 1st we will have our League Meeting at 6:00pm at Vista Lanes to get all the particulars in order. Rules, Sanction cards, Weekly League fees, Secretary fees, dates for our Byes, etc.

First week of bowling will be the following Wednesday, September 8th.

If you have a team, Great! If not, we can put you together with one. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM or text me.

I look forward to seeing everyone! It has been a long time coming.

Hello everyone from Wednesday Vegas Funtime League Bowlers!

I have finally heard from the Bowling Center regarding the start of our league.

We will resume our league on September 8th, after Labor Day. All the other Funtime Leagues that go to Vegas in June, will also resume in September as per the Manager who is taking care of both the centers in Palmdale and Lancaster.

I will keep you informed with any information that is given to me.

I hope you’re all doing well and staying safe.

I know there are many bowlers that will not be returning, but we’ll figure things out regarding teams, at a later date.

Have a great summer and I will stay in touch.

League Secretary,
Myrna Factuar

To all my Wednesday Vegas Funtime League Bowlers - I just received an email from our Tournament Coordinator, Cassie Davis. This is in regards to our Vegas trip that is scheduled for June 21-23, 2020 at The Orleans.

I have copied the letter so everyone has the same information that I was given.

🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳
The following is directly from Cassie Davis’ email -

Hi all!
After gathering all of the needed information, I am sad to report that we will need to cancel our events for June. It is highly unlikely that The Orleans and the rest of Las Vegas will have opened and lifted travel bans and self isolation requirements by that time.

We are aware that many of you have been holding out, really wanting to go to Vegas. With that in mind, we are making arrangements to postpone our events until August. We still have no guarantee that we will be free to host our event without physical distancing requirements, but we are hopeful that by postponing for 6 weeks, Vegas and the State of Nevada will have reached their peak and completed the 4 stage opening that their Governor has prescribed.

Please contact your teams with this information (which I will also post on our page) as soon as possible, so we can either proceed with arrangements for them in August or prepare to refund their prize funds to them. We will need a minimum of 100 teams to make it worth it for you (side pots, brackets and prize funds.) As soon as I have your responses, I can publish dates to everyone.

I look forward to hearing from you, and until I see you again, please stay healthy!

Cassie Davis
Tournament Coordinator

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me directly. I can and will forward any concerns you may have.

To my League Bowlers and Team Captains - please help me in contacting the bowlers on your team who are not on Facebook. I will also text this message to all our bowlers.

Thank you so much. Love and miss you all. Continue to be safe and be healthy.

Your League Secretary,
Myrna

To all my Wednesday Vegas Funtime League Bowlers - As of now, we will not bowl for the next two weeks. Once I receive an update from Bowlero - I will let you all know what is happening.

Team Captains - please help me in getting in touch with your team members of this announcement.

Please remember - when we do return bowling, everyone is still expected to pay their league fees.

Please continue to be safe. During this time, if any of my league bowlers need anything or have any questions, please feel free to contact.

I will be praying for all of you and your families that we will all get through this difficult time.

Don't take this time for granted. Take a long hard look about how you spend your time. Think about spending your time in the same manner that you think about spending your money. You don't throw money away, so don't throw your time away! Treasure every moment we have been given.

My love and a virtual hug to each and every one of you. I’ll see you in a couple weeks.

I may not have been there this year because I was in the hospital and of my health. But, I was there in spirit and in the hearts of my bowlers.

New Season - Fall 2018 - Spring 2019 - Week #1

It was a great night of Bowling last night. It was our first night back for the new season. I would like to welcome a few new bowlers to the league - Marcella Johnson, Carlos Ibarra, Vijay Velu, Shashni Velu, Sharon Keys-Kendrick, Betty Turner, Anna Fisk and Lena Estrada. Also, I’d like to welcome back to the league from a season off - Christine LoveLove Asmar, Delante Archey, Cathleen Cicat and Eman Esparza. It's going to be a fun and exciting time every Wednesday night! I had such a great time seeing everyone back, I missed seeing you over the summer break.

We did have our Poker Card game last night. It was a small pot because only 8 bowlers participated.
♠️ 1st game - Mike Tirak won with a Full House
β™₯️ 2nd game - James Larios won with Four of a Kind Jacks and
♣️ 3rd game - Timothy Daugherty won with Four of a Kind Queens.

For our first night of bowling, we had some great bowling. I know these guys were sandbagging. Lol.
These are my β€œHall of Fame not Shame” bowlers with 200+ games!
🎳 James Larios bowled a 238 and 214 game.
🎳 Matthew Larios bowled a 223 game.
🎳 John Nelson bowled a 236 game.
🎳 John Adams bowled a 266 game.
🎳 Mark Kadlec bowled a 207 game.
🎳 Kevin Polson bowled a 201 game.

🎳 Vijay Velu bowled a 236 game.
🎳 Greg Sazueta bowled a 238 game and
🎳 Timothy Daugherty bowled a 223 and 221 game.
Great first night of bowling guys!!

I was able to bowl last night and surprised myself that I actually bowled pretty well. Bowling a 126, 135 and 125 games, in my opinion, was great, considering I haven’t bowled since Vegas and the pain I was in. But, I was extremely tired afterwards and probably the most active in a long time. Lol.

I am looking for another team to balance out my league. If you are interested, know anyone or have any questions, please message me.

My love and hugs to carry you through this wonderful and blessed day.

End of League - Last week #37

Happy happy Thursday to you. It was a great time last night because it was Sweepers for my Wednesday Vegas Funtime bowlers. Our last night of bowling before our tournament in Vegas at The Orleans. Our season is ending, the fun, the laughter, the competition, and our weekly lows and highs. Last night we had lots of fun and competition, lots of money, awards and trophies handed out, and lots of memories that we made.

To my league, I truly appreciate you, each and every one of you, my bowlers. You are not only my friends, you are my family. You are there each week to pray for me, support me, console me, understand me and most of all love me during my continuing battle with my cancer. You have seen me during my bad days and days of struggle. You have all played a part in my fight and my survival, for that, I thank you with all my heart. During our summer break, I will continue this fight, staying positive so I can come back and bowl with you for the Fall season.

Before I give you my recap of last night, I would like to apologize to you, my bowlers for the lane conditions during our Sweepers competition. This is not to cover the Center’s fault in this but because I had very upset bowlers and I couldn’t do anything. Having the Center not strip and oil our lanes because they misinformed the mechanic, stating our league had ended last week was inexcusable. But, as a league you all continued on and for that, you made me proud.

Now, to start my recap of the last night. Let me start with our weekly Card Game. We had 22 bowlers participating to hopefully have that luck of having the High Winning hand for each game to win $22.00!
♠️ Game 1 with a Full House was Emilio Sandoval.
♦️ Game 2 with Four Aces was Tim Daugherty.
♣️ Game 3 with a Full House was Richard (Dickie King) Portillo.

I wanted to spread a little extra cash around by doing a drawing during each game. Two bowlers would be chosen randomly by Lane and bowling position by a neutral person!
🀞Game 1 -
1st pick - Lane 32 - Bowler 2 - was Me, Myrna! (Lol! It was random, really!) for $10.00
2nd pick - Lane 39 - Bowler 2 - was James Thomas for $5.00
🀞Game 2 -
1st pick - Lane 36 - Bowler 1 - was Ken Kennedy for $10.00
2nd pick - Lane 32 - Bowler 1 - was Elmer Roseman for $5.00
🀞Game 3 -
1st pick - Lane 26 - Bowler 1 - was Kasey Terry for $10.00
2nd pick - Lane 29 - Bowler 3 - was Bob Biglay (John B Roberts) for $5.00.

Next we had our Strike it Rich Sidepot Rolloff. No one had won the Sidepot during our regular league play so everyone who was participating, each would have a chance to win a share of the $450.00! Each bowler would have their try to get their Strike each round. No strike and you were eliminated. It was stiff competition but overall -
Our πŸ₯‡Top Winner was - Eric Prevost won $300.00!
Our πŸ₯ˆ2nd Place was - Cody Scarbury won $150.00!
πŸ’΅πŸ’΅πŸ’΅ Great job guys! πŸ’΅πŸ’΅πŸ’΅

We had our End of the Season 50/50 raffle but it was -
πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ’°Winner Takes All! πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ’°
The lucky ticket winner would take all of the proceeds of the sales which totaled $147.00! The bartender in the Lounge picked a random ticket. After he announced the number, I repeatedly called out the number to have everyone check their tickets. No one was responding. After several times, I finally asked Tim to re-check my tickets......Guess who won? Lol? I did. Omg! I won $147.00! 😊

We had lots of money winners for our Sweepers, Brackets and Sidepot. I want to thank Andrew and Nicole Halgrimson for running this for me. You guys did a great job and it ran smoothly. I don’t have the list of all the winners but the overall winners were -
Men’s - Rick Colliflower and
Women’s - Christina Rhoades.
Overall, almost $1300 was handed out amongst all the winners for Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles! For a small league like mine, this is great! Congratulations everyone who placed.

I want to acknowledge all my Association Award recipients who earned Game and Series awards. You all did a wonderful job of bowling to receive those!

Our Vegas trip is June 17th- 19th at The Orleans Hotel and Casino on Tropicana. Some of you will be going early on Friday, June 15th like Tim and I. If you booked a room with the league, you should be able to check in anytime after 12noon (if it’s available earlier, they will let you know at the desk). Your tournament bowling Day, Time and Lanes were given to you earlier. If you forgot or lost your notice I gave, you can contact me or it will be posted in the Bowling Center (2nd Floor) on Sunday.

This has been a fantastic season for me and I am looking forward to seeing everyone for our Fall 2018-19 season. Please remember if you have any questions regarding anything, you can always call me, text me or FB message me.

Before I end this long post, I want to give you my good wishes and prayers to keep you safe and have peace in your life but most of all to keep you smiling and give you love and happiness. May you be always blessed this beautiful day and everyday. Remembering that each day is a special gift from God, and while life may not always be fair, you must never allow the pains, hurdles, and handicaps of the moment to poison your attitude and plans for yourself and your future.

Have a Beautiful Day! My love to you always, my hugs to comfort you, and a great big beaming smile to always brighten your days.

Drive carefully and be safe and I will see you in Vegas. They’re not going to know what hit them when our Wednesday Vegas Funtime League gets in town.

06/07/2018

Well, last night was Week #36 and our End of the League Potluck Buffet for my Wednesday Vegas Funtime League. Once again, it was a total success. We had more than enough food to feed everyone and then some. Just the way I like it! Also, it was the last night to turn in all Sweeper papers and money for next week.

I haven’t been able to bowl the past few weeks and I may not bowl next week, because my chemo treatments are wreaking havoc to my system. No strength, no energy and pain throughout my entire body is no fun at all.

First off, I’ll start with our 50/50 raffle.
πŸ’΅ 1st Place with the winning ticket for $20.00 was Fernando (Mary Ann) Martinez.
πŸ’΅ 2nd Place with the winning ticket for $10.00 was Jeff Martin and
πŸ’΅ 3rd Place with the winning ticket for $5.00 was Tim Daugherty.

For our Card Game we had 20 bowlers participating to receive $20.00 for each High Winning hand.
♠️ 1st game with 5 of a Kind 3’s and
♦️ 2nd game with 5 of a Kind 10’s was Cody Scarbury. Yes, he won both!
♣️ 3rd game with 4 of a Kind 7’s was Tim Daugherty.

Our Strike it Rich Sidepot was at $463.00 for that lucky chosen bowler who received the much needed Strikes. The three chosen bowlers were - Cody Scarbury, Elmer Roseman and Travis Peal. Each were β€œoh so close” but not quite that needed Strike. Sorry! Next week during Sweepers, if the three chosen bowlers do not get the needed Strike, we will have a roll-off with the other bowlers who are in the drawing.

Now for my β€œHall of Fame not Shame”. These are my weekly bowlers with at least a 200+ game or a great Scratch Series.
🎳 Frank H Riese III bowled a 201 and a 222 game.
🎳 Emilio Sandoval bowled a 204 game.
