End of League - Last week #37
Happy happy Thursday to you. It was a great time last night because it was Sweepers for my Wednesday Vegas Funtime bowlers. Our last night of bowling before our tournament in Vegas at The Orleans. Our season is ending, the fun, the laughter, the competition, and our weekly lows and highs. Last night we had lots of fun and competition, lots of money, awards and trophies handed out, and lots of memories that we made.
To my league, I truly appreciate you, each and every one of you, my bowlers. You are not only my friends, you are my family. You are there each week to pray for me, support me, console me, understand me and most of all love me during my continuing battle with my cancer. You have seen me during my bad days and days of struggle. You have all played a part in my fight and my survival, for that, I thank you with all my heart. During our summer break, I will continue this fight, staying positive so I can come back and bowl with you for the Fall season.
Before I give you my recap of last night, I would like to apologize to you, my bowlers for the lane conditions during our Sweepers competition. This is not to cover the Centerβs fault in this but because I had very upset bowlers and I couldnβt do anything. Having the Center not strip and oil our lanes because they misinformed the mechanic, stating our league had ended last week was inexcusable. But, as a league you all continued on and for that, you made me proud.
Now, to start my recap of the last night. Let me start with our weekly Card Game. We had 22 bowlers participating to hopefully have that luck of having the High Winning hand for each game to win $22.00!
β οΈ Game 1 with a Full House was Emilio Sandoval.
β¦οΈ Game 2 with Four Aces was Tim Daugherty.
β£οΈ Game 3 with a Full House was Richard (Dickie King) Portillo.
I wanted to spread a little extra cash around by doing a drawing during each game. Two bowlers would be chosen randomly by Lane and bowling position by a neutral person!
π€Game 1 -
1st pick - Lane 32 - Bowler 2 - was Me, Myrna! (Lol! It was random, really!) for $10.00
2nd pick - Lane 39 - Bowler 2 - was James Thomas for $5.00
π€Game 2 -
1st pick - Lane 36 - Bowler 1 - was Ken Kennedy for $10.00
2nd pick - Lane 32 - Bowler 1 - was Elmer Roseman for $5.00
π€Game 3 -
1st pick - Lane 26 - Bowler 1 - was Kasey Terry for $10.00
2nd pick - Lane 29 - Bowler 3 - was Bob Biglay (John B Roberts) for $5.00.
Next we had our Strike it Rich Sidepot Rolloff. No one had won the Sidepot during our regular league play so everyone who was participating, each would have a chance to win a share of the $450.00! Each bowler would have their try to get their Strike each round. No strike and you were eliminated. It was stiff competition but overall -
Our π₯Top Winner was - Eric Prevost won $300.00!
Our π₯2nd Place was - Cody Scarbury won $150.00!
π΅π΅π΅ Great job guys! π΅π΅π΅
We had our End of the Season 50/50 raffle but it was -
π°π°π°Winner Takes All! π°π°π°
The lucky ticket winner would take all of the proceeds of the sales which totaled $147.00! The bartender in the Lounge picked a random ticket. After he announced the number, I repeatedly called out the number to have everyone check their tickets. No one was responding. After several times, I finally asked Tim to re-check my tickets......Guess who won? Lol? I did. Omg! I won $147.00! π
We had lots of money winners for our Sweepers, Brackets and Sidepot. I want to thank Andrew and Nicole Halgrimson for running this for me. You guys did a great job and it ran smoothly. I donβt have the list of all the winners but the overall winners were -
Menβs - Rick Colliflower and
Womenβs - Christina Rhoades.
Overall, almost $1300 was handed out amongst all the winners for Singles, Menβs Doubles, Womenβs Doubles and Mixed Doubles! For a small league like mine, this is great! Congratulations everyone who placed.
I want to acknowledge all my Association Award recipients who earned Game and Series awards. You all did a wonderful job of bowling to receive those!

Our Vegas trip is June 17th- 19th at The Orleans Hotel and Casino on Tropicana. Some of you will be going early on Friday, June 15th like Tim and I. If you booked a room with the league, you should be able to check in anytime after 12noon (if itβs available earlier, they will let you know at the desk). Your tournament bowling Day, Time and Lanes were given to you earlier. If you forgot or lost your notice I gave, you can contact me or it will be posted in the Bowling Center (2nd Floor) on Sunday.
This has been a fantastic season for me and I am looking forward to seeing everyone for our Fall 2018-19 season. Please remember if you have any questions regarding anything, you can always call me, text me or FB message me.
Before I end this long post, I want to give you my good wishes and prayers to keep you safe and have peace in your life but most of all to keep you smiling and give you love and happiness. May you be always blessed this beautiful day and everyday. Remembering that each day is a special gift from God, and while life may not always be fair, you must never allow the pains, hurdles, and handicaps of the moment to poison your attitude and plans for yourself and your future.
Have a Beautiful Day! My love to you always, my hugs to comfort you, and a great big beaming smile to always brighten your days.
Drive carefully and be safe and I will see you in Vegas. Theyβre not going to know what hit them when our Wednesday Vegas Funtime League gets in town.
