“The memory of pain is such a strange thing”

Rebecca Fox Becca said that to me yesterday when I was asking her to reflect on her Structural Integration 10-Series after her Session 10.

And it really is a profound statement…

Pain is such an immediate and all-consuming felt experience that happens in the present moment. Trying to remember pain that isn’t there anymore is so weird…

Of course, our stories around the pain and our attachment to it can definitely influence that experience, especially when it comes to chronic pain.

That’s why I love Ida Rolf’s work and the contributions of my Hellerwork lineage so much, because the dialogue can be a profound component in changing a client’s relationship to their pain and the incident or experience that caused/is causing the pain, which definitely affects the felt experience.

There’s just something so cool about getting a message from a client months later, like this one from Jenn Jennifer Joy Newell

It’s not uncommon after a series for me to ask a client, “how’s your back pain?” And have them say something like, “oh yea! I actually forgot about that!”… even with that was the primary complaint that brought them in to see me in the first place.

Just a reminder that pain doesn’t have to be a reality you just deal with, live with, or manage… even if it feels like that sometimes 💞

I’m so excited for practice this Saturday!!

It’s going to be so sweet having Erin Gordon co-teaching so I can take the time to really see students in their poses and give some meaningful hands-on assists to support deeper understanding and connection to the body ✨

It’s literally one of my favorite things about teaching yoga 💆‍♀️

I’m also super stoked that Kimberly Annex will be there to assist and share her magic also. Kimmi just got back from plant medicine dieta in Peru, so she’s got that extra special glow 🌱 and so much power in her touch 💓

It really is a dream team.

Come practice with us. This is one you don’t want to miss…

If you’re interested in yoga teacher training (200 Hour Foundation or 300 Hour Professional training), stick around for the Q&A to hear firsthand experiences from some our graduates.

And if you’re a graduate, please come share. I’d love to see you on your mat and give you some love 🥰

It’s a very strange time we’re living in…

I’m looking at some devotional artwork, and all of a sudden I have this thought, “is this AI?”…. People who make art are posting photos of their process just to prove they made it themselves, because it’s getting harder to know what’s real anymore.

My feed is full of friends asking where they can get a job. People who are very highly qualified and have been working in their field for decades are struggling to find work, and on top of that, everything is getting so expensive...

We’re all talking about how quickly things are changing, and what that means for our children. Being “left behind” by technology seems to be the predominant marketing pitch, and conversations are centered around the jobs being replaced by AI. Everyone is on their screens spinning, getting more anxious, insecure, and disconnected…

And yet, when things get weird and the economy struggles, people in the business of raising consciousness get busier.

I’m getting inquiries almost daily about Structural Integration and yoga teacher training. That’s because when people are really struggling, they start looking for things that really work. They get bored with taking pain relievers and start seeking out the root cause of the pain.

With all the artificial intelligence, anxiety, insecurity, and struggle… We are all deeply craving soul-level impact, and the infinitely invaluable connection to life-force energy and divine intelligence….

We want something real.

This is the best time to double down on your spiritual advancement and cut through the nonsense… to immerse yourself fully in yoga and allow these very meaningful, time-tested teachings to permeate all aspects of your life… to invest in cultivating a skill set that makes you irreplaceable in your radically human authenticity, and grounds you in the truth of what matters most. If you’re feeling called to the Yoga Teacher Training experience, come to our info session in June. We are so excited to hold you and encourage the beautiful potential you hold.
