Looking for (3) staff for an upcoming Spartan Race in Littlefield, AZ (about an hour and a half outside of Las Vegas) from 3/21-3/22. Hours will tentatively run 6am-5pm on Saturday and 7am-5pm on Sunday.
Clean cut appearance, comfortable shoes (brown if possible), khaki pants, and a lightweight jacket—the low is looking to be somewhere around 40 degrees and the high around 50.

After 31 years of Personal Training in Vegas…I’m done. - Paul

THE REAL RESULTS Gym located at 1201 S. Commerce st. in The Arts District, Las Vegas will permanently close its doors on May 30th, 2022 or very soon after.

If you still want to see me for training, I am teaching 30 minute Virtual Training sessions 2-3x a week. I am taking on only a small handful of additional clients. Contact me for details.

Upon closing, REAL RESULTS Personal Training will move to The Plaza Hotel downtown on 1 North Main Street (just down the street from REAL RESULTS). The gym there is awesome (REAL RESULTS helped build it out) with free parking (not in the parking garage) and easy access to the gym. - a .90 second walk.

Is your indulgence working for or against you?

This question is meaningful particularly if you are attempting to make eating clean and consistent exercise a long term commitment.

Is it a matter if discipline or wisdom?

There comes a point I believe for all of us when we observe our behavior and tendencies and ask the question…Is what I am doing working for me?

Are my ongoing actions bringing me closer or further away from the type of person I want to be or accomplishing the goals I set for myself?

Do you have to be extreme about change? Only if the from of indulgence is harmful to you or others mentally/emotionally, financially or physically.

For example, does eating chocolate send you into a pattern of indulging with it too much or too often? Does allowing yourself to eat it lead to regular consumption of other fattening or unhealthy food items? Do you slip into a pattern where you are indulging multiple days a week or even daily? Do you mentally beat yourself up for these slip ups? Are you even capable of moderation?

At the end of the day you have to know yourself and your tendencies. Are you capable of eating a reasonable amount of chocolate on the weekend and then being done with it until the following weekend?

Having a few squares of chocolate even on a daily basis is perfectly ok as long as consuming it is not interfering with your goals, making you feel bad about yourself or lead you to escalating indulgence.

You are the boss here. Conclude if what your behavior is working for you…or is it leading you down a negative path?

For most people, certain indulgences are more extreme like cigarettes or addictive drugs and ought to be discarded. Yet alcohol, caffeine, marijuana or gambling for example aren’t so clear cut. For people with addictive tendencies…pretty obvious - abstain. But others can indulge and it doesn’t take them down a negative spiral.

Indulgences are about - feel good now. Whereas discipline is about - delayed gratification.

Food is tricky. Why? Because we must eat in order to survive. The key is to develop/nurture a healthy relationship with food.

Find what works for you. Pay attention to how you feel both physically and mentally when you indulge. Set limits and boundaries if need be. Or let certain things go.

Review your patterns, habits and routines and ask yourself - is this working for me?

The words you speak filter through my mind….

I just turned 50. Hard for me to believe I am a half century old but it came…and passed. I don’t feel any different but I’m sure I look different from years having passed.

Hopefully with age comes wisdom I’m told.

Being a Trainer/Coach for 31 years I am confident in having gained a bit of wisdom about the following:

Nutrition, weight loss, circuit training, progressing clients from beginner to advanced, holding people accountable, leadership of self and others and schedule prioritization/time management to name a few.

Coinciding with my knowledge base, l am a keenly observant person. I listen closely when you talk and stay present to focus on your points and rationale.

When you speak to me, all of the words and statements that come out of your mouth go into my mind and enter what I call my - Trainer Filter.

I process truth or bullsh*t/excuses through this filter and out of my mouth or another form of communication like email or text, will come my response to you.

Being a trainer for 31 years I have heard just about every excuse you can imagine. Few are legitimate. 95% are usually justifications. If you tell me that you want to change, I will hold you to it. If you repeatedly demonstrate that your actions are contrary to your words…I will delve a little deeper.

My filter is refined from many years from listening to my own words I speak or paying attention to the thoughts I think. I don’t BS myself and I don’t BS other people. Honesty to myself and others is a core value of mine.

With age my tolerance to put up with BS or excuses is minimal. Not to sound harsh or arrogant, but at this point in my life time is becoming more and more precious. I prefer to work with clients who are committed to change. This does not mean you need to be perfect…no one is. But it does mean you must be committed to growing and improving. Which is hard….but so worth it. If your not in that head space maybe it’s not the right timing for you to change or you don’t really want what you say you want bad enough. - Talk is easy.

Be honest with yourself and others. Listen to your own internal filter. If not, step aside and make room for someone who does.

Make eating clean and consistent exercise a priority - a way of life.
