SVG is the Fox 🦊 for the dogs to chase Richard Petty was saying we so direly needed. His dominance on the road courses is like nothing I have ever seen before.

A much needed result for JHN Sunday at Watkins Glen.
It was September 7th the last time he finished in the top ten.

Look, I’m not saying he was going to beat SVG because he almost certainly wasn’t. But hey, you have to be impressed from the flashes we saw. You got a small teaser of what could be in the cup series at road courses once Zilisch learns to put a full race together. Unfortunately the result ends as another rough finish in a brutal rookie year for Zilisch.

Couldn’t get footage of Bell/Wallace, Hocevar/Berry or even the huge hit by Cody Ware but hey, here’s 72 million angles of a flying tent.

A questionable call in stage 2 cost McDowell stage points, and overall leaving with only 1 stage point seemed like a huge miss. McDowell and crew chief Travis Peterson would bounce back though and finish 2nd place to the seemingly unbeatable SVG.

More from the Glen, RCR showed a strong showing putting both drivers in the top ten with Dillon coming home 6th and Busch 8th. More than just their finish though both drivers actually showed to have speed. Something we’ve literally not said since Daytona qualifying.

Do you think NASCAR got the call right letting it stay green? I hate to be critical here because we complain when they call cautions late and kill the racing but man this seemed like a REALLY hard hit. I think this one had to be a caution…

Despite being in a massive slump, Logano didn’t bleed too much today only dropping one spot in the points from 17th to 18th. Luckily for Logano, he earned stage points in stage 1 before have tire issues taking him out.

Hendrick Motorsports was absolutely out to lunch today! You can’t even blame Chevrolet… They were dominant today, but you just never saw Hendrick… literally ever! Larson comes home 23rd, Elliott 24th,Bowman 25th and Byron was in an accident an finished 36th.

Shane Van Gisbergen puts the No.97 in victory lane at Watkins Glen, earning what is the first win for that number since Kurt Busch won at Richmond in 2005.
