Tonight, Penn-Trafford (2-0) travels to Robert Morris University’s Joe Walton Stadium to take on the Moon Tigers (0-1) in a non-conference game. Last week the Warriors defeated Hempfield 51-29 in a rare Saturday contest while Moon’s game at Bethel Park was cancelled due to the storms. The Tigers are members of the WPIAL Class 5A Northeast Conference.
The PT versus Moon series began in 1972 as old Keystone conference foes as the Warriors lead 6-3-1. The schools split games last season with Penn-Trafford coming away with a last second 25-24 win on the road while Moon edged PT in the quarterfinals of the playoffs 20-13.
Penn-Trafford is playing their first ever football game at Joe Walton Stadium on the campus of Robert Morris University. The game was originally scheduled to be at Moon Tiger Stadium, but a stadium renovation project forced Moon to play all of their home games at different sites this season.
