🏀 DON’T CHANGE YOUR OFFENSE JUST BECAUSE THEY GO ZONE!

Your team pushes the ball in transition, arrives spaced in your 5-Out offense… and suddenly the defense drops into a zone.

Now what? 🤔

Too many teams stop attacking, slow everything down, and start running an entirely different offense.

But what if you could keep your players attacking without changing your entire system?

We’re breaking down how to:

✅ Create advantages with the 2-Sided Break
✅ Arrive spaced in your 5-Out offense
✅ Flow into zone offense without stopping the ball
✅ Maintain your attack mindset against zone defenses

Your offense shouldn’t stop just because the defense changes.

Let’s simplify the game and teach our players how to play.

🏀 **STOP GIVING PLAYERS THE ANSWERS!**

Are we developing basketball players who can think for themselves, or players who are constantly looking to the sideline for instructions?

One of the biggest changes I've made in how I coach the Dribble Drive Motion offense is putting more responsibility on my players to READ THE GAME.

✅ Stop scripting every decision.
✅ Create situations where players must solve problems.
✅ Use small-sided games to develop basketball IQ.
✅ Teach players to recognize advantages and react.

Our philosophy is simple:

🏀 SHOOT IT. DRIVE IT. MOVE IT.

The goal isn't to create players who memorize every movement. It's to develop players who understand spacing, recognize advantages, and make decisions without being told what to do.

That's a major part of our System Basketball Framework.

Your players want to attack the paint—but is a help defender sitting at the nail waiting for them?

Move that defender before the drive. 🏀

Slice, Slice Nail, and Slice Blur give you ways to remove nail help, create driving gaps, and get more paint touches in your Dribble Drive Motion offense.

Creating Gaps is Pillar 2 of the System Basketball Framework, and our latest clinic breaks down the cuts, reads, and drills to teach it.

Your players need a gap worth attacking. 🏀

A slot-to-slot pass. A hard cut. A bigger driving lane.

When the passer clears the space, the receiver can attack a double or triple gap based on the defense.

The detail? No jogging cuts.

One cut can put a help defender in a tough spot. 👀

In this 124 Jet action, the jet cut opens a triple gap for the ball handler to attack. Now the defender has a decision: help on the drive or stay with the cutter?

This Sunday, I’ll show you simple actions to create gaps and teach your players to attack the advantage.

Coaches, are your players cutting with a purpose—or just moving around?

Wave, Zipper, and Fan are three ways we create gaps to get downhill and force the defense to help.

This Sunday, I’ll break down these actions and more in our FREE Creating Gaps clinic, with diagrams, video, and teaching points you can take into practice.

Getting into the paint is only half the job. Can your players finish when the defense gets there?

We work on different footwork, angles, and finishes so players have answers around the rim.

Inside hand. Two-foot power stop. Spin. Euro step.

The goal is to recognize the defender and choose the finish that fits.

Finishing & Ball Skills is one part of the System Basketball Framework—connecting how we create an advantage to what we do with it.

One cut. A triple gap. Multiple ways to attack.

The Fan Cut creates a triple gap for the ball handler to attack, with kick-out and post options as the defense helps.

On the kick-out, our point guard makes a decision on the catch:

Shoot it. Drive it. Move it.

We’re teaching players to create space, attack it, and read the defense.

I’ll break down the Fan Cut and more simple actions in my FREE Creating Gaps Zoom clinic this Sunday, October 25.
