One more record falls at the NCHC Nationals - Grace Christine breaks the 1500m Steeplechase record by 1 minute with a time of 6.44.13!

The Eagle Track team enjoyed an amazing day at the KASC State Championships Saturday!

Highlights:

The VCS Women’s team took 2nd place with a huge team score of 152 points!

5 Varsity Records were broken or established!

**Emmy Mast now owns the 1600m record (previous set in 2013) with a time of 5:35.78
**Liv Maddox now owns the 3200m record (previous set in 2011) with a time of 13:09.66
**Amelia Rozzie, Chae Park, Emelia Mast and Juliana Yaluk-Shults broke the 4 by 100M Relay record with a time of 57.36.
**Chloe Drewry, Juliana Yaluk-Shultz, Adelynn Mast, and Grace Christline established a new SMR 1600m Relay record with a time of 5:18.58
**Gabe Kumar, Josh Nadvornik, Conner Moore and Caleb May established a new SMR 1600m Relay record with a time of 5:18.58

Eagles advance to the championship - defeating KC East 4-1. Senior Blaine Hunninghake pitches a complete game, throwing his final pitch as a high school senior. James Lee will be on the mound TODAY at 11am vs. Christ Prep for the championship.

The 12-8 Veritas Eagles baseball team have moved on to the semi-finals for the KAS State Championship in Wichita (Genesis Sports Complex) by defeating Smoky Valley today 12-0 in 5 innings. Lincoln Baum went 2.2 innings giving up just 2 hits and recording 4 strikeouts. Gavin Oberzan went 2.1 innings to finish it out on the mound with 3 strikeouts over 2.1 innings.

Eagles with hits: Asher Lawson, James Lee (2 hits, 1 RBI), Lincoln Baum (1 run homerun), Austin Alvarez (1 hit, 2 RBI), Abel Ney (2 hits, 2 RBI), Quentin Stegall (1 hit, 1 RBI) and Shaphan Ming (1 hit).

The Eagles play the KC East Lions tomorrow at 2pm. Winner advances to the Championship game.

The middle school eagles had a blast competing against our Lawrence friends today at the Lawrence All-City Showcase Track Meet!

Emmy Mast broke her own 400m record by almost a second with a time of 1:04.61!

Austin Drewry broke the 800m record last night at the Little KU relays with a time of 2:10.02. The previous record was established in 2011. Way to go Austin!!

Great night at the Little KU Relays! So many great performances, highlighted by Charlotte Clements breaking her own shot put school record with a throw of 29’8”!
