Lawson Cardinal Middle School Cross Country

Lawson Middle School participated in our first meet of the season at the Ray Pec Invitational. After an hour weather delay to start the meet the races were able to get off and running, literally. The middle school races ended up getting combined, the boys and girls ran together. With most of the kids running their first ever race they completed very well and had a great learning experience in racing in not the best of conditions and after a delay.

Girls 3k (1.86 miles) results: 68 runners
Nellie Trout finished in 6th place - earning a medal
Evelyn Ouderkirk finished in 47th place
Parker Norris and Angel May Webb were not able to run

Boys 3k results: 108 runners
Landon Trosper finished in 17th place
Sebastian Savage finished in 80th place (runs part time, also plays football)
Raylan Jennings finished in 90th place (runs part time, also plays football)
Connor Knutter was not able to run

Great job to the HS kids today in Liberty!!

Our Cross Country team braved the heat and started running at 7:30am this morning at the 10th annual Tim Nixon meet in Liberty. It's a huge meet that brings teams from all over this side of the state. Our runners showed alot of heart and determination. Excited for these Cardinals this fall under coach Weatherspoons leadership!

It's time for the Fall Season of Girls on the Run! Practices begin . Girls in grades 3-6 are encouraged to sign up! If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Spencer at Southwest Elementary. The first practice starts Sept. 15th!

The Lawson Lake 5k is on Saturday November 14, 2026. It includes the following events: Lawson Lake 5k, Lawson Lake 5k Youth, and Lawson Lake Walk.

If your soon to be 7th or 8th grade child is interested in running middle school cross country this fall please sign up for the Remind group, you will need to have the app.
This will provide information and updates for our xc team and info on our meets throughout the season.

Our official start of the season is quickly coming upon us!!
Our first practice will be before school starts, we will meet Saturday August 22nd at the Lawson Lake at 8:00-9:00am.
Please make sure you have a current physical on file or otherwise you can’t practice until then.
