Big progress at one of our hunting lodges this week! We just got the new concrete driveway and sidewalk poured, giving the place a clean, finished look as guests pull in. Next up: landscaping and a few more entertainment touches around the lodge to make evenings just as memorable as the hunts.

And this is just one of several lodges we're getting ready this season — each one built to give our hunters a true home base between hunts. Because at the end of the day, a great lodge is what turns a hunt into an experience. Good company, good stories, and a comfortable place to rest up before it all starts again.

Occasionally the elk with the most points isn't the mature one we're after. We focus on quality and age over antler score. This bull was only a 5x6, but he was fully mature — exactly what we look for. We'll often pass on bulls with more points in favor of older, more mature animals that have reached their full potential. Proper management is the only way to ensure a healthy, sustainable herd for years to come.
