(Lawton, OK) – It’s with a broken heart and our deepest sadness that we announce Mrs. Barbara Curry was welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father, in the early morning of Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

Barbara’s legacy will live on through her husband Leon, her two sons, and grandchildren, but also, in the lives that she influenced in the community. She loved Lawton with all her heart. She wanted our community to be the best it could be. Please honor her memory by not disparaging this community but by asking, “Where & who can I serve?” That’s what she would want from her beloved community.

The family would like to thank the outpouring of love and support from her friends, and acquaintances. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The WOMEN That VOTE Arts Corporation, an organization, which was founded by Barbara Curry in 2018.

(Women that VOTE Arts Corporation (WTVAC) is a 501C3 non-profit off-spring of WOMEN that VOTE! In 2018, Barbara E. Curry created WOMEN that VOTE! to encourage voter registration and to promote the educated vote. Established in 2019, the purpose and mission of WOMEN That VOTE Arts Corporation is to “Celebrate Suffrage” by progressively commemorating the 19th Amendment granting women/citizens of the United States the right to vote. Narrating history thru assorted forms of art, it is the goal of WTVAC to connect details between the historic Suffrage Movement and the relevance of current day suffragists continuing to advocate for equity and inclusion; as well as recognizing and honoring women making a difference in our local community.)
