Happy Sunday! We are back at the hangar this week in FW - yay 🙌 Kristyn will be teaching Sculpt or Stretch on Saturdays also starting this week. Please note the class cancellation on Thursday morning in LC. FW will be open so we hope to see you there instead!

A BIG thank you to everyone that donated to Westwood Elementary. We will be providing them with 43 binders, 79 boxes of crayola markers, 296 expo markers and 62 pair of headphones plus a few miscellaneous donations. That is AMAZING, and I know the teachers will be absolutely thrilled!! No classes in Friendswood this week - we will be back to the Hangar on Monday 8/12. Wednesday and Thursday we will have AM classes at 144 Park Ave. Suite 400 in League City. The floor is carpet - not our favorite but my only option!! We are still collecting money/school supplies for Westwood Elementary through Saturday.

Sunday’s class will be at 9:30 am - Susan will see you in the ballroom!

Saturday August 10 we will have a back to school celebration! The location is yet to be determined but we will have our two usual classes followed by snacks and time to visit 😊We will also be collecting school supplies to donate to Westwood Elementary in Friendswood. You can donate supplies, or you are also welcome to donate cash that I will use to purchase from their wish list. I've been in contact with the principal, and she says they have the greatest need for the following items:

1. One inch white binders
2. Black expo markers (students use daily for phonics instruction)
3. Crayola markers
4. Headphones (over the ear)

Today's schedule will have some changes - FEMA is taking over the rec center in LC for a minimum of 30 days. While they are there, we will have to find another location for class. I don't know for certain when yet, probably mid week. That's literally all I know at this point so I'll inform you as I know more!

We should be back to normal in Friendswood this week 🤞I have to cancel class Thursday morning in League City because all the facilities are unavailable. Remember that this is the week we will transition to the new check-in system. Look for an email from me with more details shortly.

Good news - we will have class in LC tomorrow 🎉 Kayla will cover Joyce’s class since she’s still without power. Bad news - NO classes in FW this week.

Tuesday classes on 7/9 are also canceled. Hoping to get back to our regular schedule on Wednesday!

Great class this 4th of July with 40+ on the dance floor!

Here's our schedule for the week. We will NOT have any classes in Friendswood because the gym is unavailable. We will have class in the morning on the 4th of July - it will be team taught by Laura H, Susan R, Jennifer and Joyce. Celebrate with us and wear your red, white, and blue 🇺🇸

Another great day with two fabulous ladies earning their way into our fit club! Laura M. has been with us for many years and has always consistently attended class, while Kymanii is newer to us but has absolutely shown her dedication as well. Congrats to you both 🎉

EATING- To be honest I try to eat out maybe once a week. My favorite place to eat that I wish was closer to our area is True Foods across town. Their menu is amazing, seasonal, fresh ingredients, organic, grass fed meats, they cook their foods with coconut oil, and they have sourdough pizzas! I also like Hopdoddy Burgers. They also have grass fed meats and I can have a burger in a bowl no bun. I like the Greek Salad from Pappa’s seafood and I just add Salmon or Shrimp for protein.

LISTENING- When I’m driving around and I’m working on a new Jazzercise set I listen to it and practice in my head. I like listening to the radio for the latest songs, also like to listen to podcasts on health, nutrition, fitness, hormones, research, etc.

WATCHING- I like watching reality TV. The Housewives of OC, Beverly Hills, Bachelor and Bachelorette, The Kardashians. Yes. Trash TV. It’s very entertaining to me and mindless. A good friend recommended Clarkson Farm on Prime and I’m enjoying that one very much! I also like to watch documentaries.

WORKING ON- Becoming a minimalist. I’m not going crazy, I’m just focusing on keeping what I really need, use and enjoy. Who knows, before we know it, we might need a smaller house too!

Vanessa -

I’m a mom of 3 adult sons. 3 dogs and one cat. My favorite things outside of Jazzercise is to work on my strength by lifting heavy weights at home. Also working on my goal to increase my steps to 15,000 steps daily. Also spending time with Eric my favorite person. We do enjoy being with each other and we walk after dinner every night. I love having my sons over to play games or watch sports together. I also love meal planning and focus on nutrient dense and whole food meals. I love learning about the gut and body connection and I’m very passionate about taking care of our bodies from the inside out. We started a garden this year and are very excited to experiment and learn about growing herbs, vegetables and berries!

Last instructor spotlight is on Vanessa!

I have always been into fitness. For my mental and physical health reasons. Always at the gym or taking group classes. After my first baby i struggled to get back into my routine of going to the gym especially with a baby. I saw an ad in my local neighborhood newspaper about Jazzercise classes at CLUMC and it said “childcare provided” and i decided to give it a try. To be honest the name Jazzercise did not excite me, I thought, I don't really like Jazz music, but I went and I loved it! And of course the music was not Jazz but the top 100 chart songs. Joyce asked me if I ever consider teaching and I said that would be something I would never do. But after a year of going to classes consistently and loving it, I decided maybe I could be good at it. In 2004 I decided to try out and here I am 20 years later. I love it so much that after I thought it was time to retire in 2023, 10 months later I decided to come back. I have met incredible people and our community is so strong that once you are a part of it, it’s hard to leave.

A good workout is when you make your dry fit shirt look like false advertising 😂 Come see any of us for that good workout this week!!

Jennifer is making her way home but her first flight was delayed so she's going to be a little later than expected! She should be here to teach Wednesday night. I'm home now but I'm going to College Station for my son's new student conference mid week so Vanessa is covering Friday morning. Happy Father's Day to the men in your lives!
