We had 2 jeeps in Lebanon's 4th of July parade today. 1942 GPW and 1945 MB. The 45 MB didnt make it, it seemed starved for fuel. 1 MPH stop and go in 90 degree weather is tough. I was able to drive it a mile or so back to the store after the parade though.

We are in Indianapolis for the Indy 1500 gun and knife show at the state fairgrounds. Sep 6-8.
We had some exitement on the way home from the show. The trailer lost a wheel. We slowed down and the wheel passed by us on interstate 65. Trailer is a dually but with the rear wheel off, the rear leaf springs were on the ground. So i backed the jeep off the trailer in 80mph traffic. With the jeep off the trailer, the trailer was pullable. Drove the jeep down the enbankment onto Lafayette rd. Took Lafayette up to whitestown parkway. Down whitestown parkway to 650. Then took 650 to SR 32 and parked it at my church on SR 32. about 17 miles. Picked it up with another trailer when we were picking the grandkids up from Kids clubs at church. We had alot of interest in the jeep at the gun show, people wanting to buy it. Everyone wants to know if it runs. Everything is for sale. This year we finish a jeep about every three months and try to never take the same jeep back to the show, 5 shows this year. Already working on one for the november show, i attached a picture of the current state of that one. This one had only run in Lebanon 4th of july parade, and a couple times around my block about 5 miles. So i guess when it needs to, it runs. it was loaded down with 12000 rds of 9 mm ammo and 2 buckets of concrete we use to hold up our sign at the gun show.

Took the Willys M38 jeep out of the gunstore today. Re-assembled outside in the parking lot. Started about 9am, took an hour lunch at the mexican resturaunt, and had it all back together in the parking lot by 4pm. Hit the starter button and it fired right up.

Fun day, the M38 at Indiana Fi****ms starts and runs. Cooling system not hooked up yet so i only let it run for a minute or so. Not finished yet. Myself (Steve Smith) and Steve Brown (retired Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer) have done most of the work, and we have no experience (except for the past 2 years tinkering on them). Steve Brown bleeds almost every time he works on it. He doesnt officially work at the store, but he comes in 3 or 4 days a week with coffee and helps out when needed. When done, the M38 cant leave the store because we only have 36" doors on the store. Posting a bunch of pictures of the progress. Brought the frame into the store in June of 2023.

We were at the Indy 1500 gun and knife show and had a 1942 Ford GPW Jeep there.
