5 things you can start doing to help you lose 10lbs by summer!

Summer is right around the corner, which I know can bring a lot of anxiety…

Thinking about putting on a swimsuit can be super stressful..

Or digging out the old jean shorts..wondering if they will fit:/

Not fun..

I want you to feel your BEST going into the summer months..

Keep in mind, weight loss isn’t necessary to be feeling your best..

I just wanted to give a few tips if weightloss is your goal!

1. Limit your alc to 1-2 drinks per week

You don’t need to completely cut it out, but alc has a lot of empty calories (calories that don’t provide nutritional value), that can cause weight gain

2. Drink 1 gallon of water per day

This will help flush toxins out of your body and honestly just has so many benefits!

3. Get in 10k steps!

More movement = more calories burned

4. Eat 3 high protein meals!

Most of us arent’t eating ENOUGH

So focusing on getting in these high protein meals will help kickstart your metabolism

5. 3-5 servings of veggies/fruits a day!

This is so good for your overall health, gut health, and so much more!

Filling your body with fruits and veggies for snacks is a great way to help you reach your goals!

Hope these tips help!! Don't overcomplicated it:)

When I turned 12, I became obsessed with how my body looked and what the number was on the scale…

Yes, 12..

I blame this on social media 100% btw..

I compared myself to supermodels I’d see on TV, famous people on Instagram, models in magazines, and the list goes on

So then it began…

Fad dieting

Being obsessed with weighing as little as possible

Starving myself if the scale was higher than I thought it should be

Purposely not eating before sports bc I thought it would “burn more calories”

I swear, I was constantly trying to lose weight from 12-18…always trying to be smaller

It was consuming….my body and food were on my mind 24/7

And honestly, no one probably knew I was struggling…

it’s a silent struggle many young girls deal with…it feels hard and embarrassing to talk about..

This is why I am so passionate about helping moms reclaim their health and heal their relationships with food..

Because your daughters watch everything you do and they WILL model after you…

So 1 mom healing her relationship with food can literally break a generational struggle…

I’ve heard hundreds of women say they see a lot of their mother’s eating habits in them, and they don’t want to pass that on to their kids…bc it DOES pass on.

While my mom never had bad eating habits, I think I was going to be the one to start issues with food in my family…thank GOD I figured it out lol

This post is by no means to get sympathy, I just want you to know that you can be the one to break a generational struggle with fitness/food!!!

Investing in a coach is the most selfless thing you can do for your family

“I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to stick with it, and that I’d waste my investment”

These were this client's exact words..

Because in the past, she had tried everything….

And always fell off..

She was so frustrated with herself and felt like she just couldn’t stick to anything….

She was exhausted before the day’s even started…

She had no energy to do the things she loves to do like farm, travel, and hang out with her kids..

But beyond that, she felt like her spark was gone..

She felt very unconfident in her own skin..

She was scared that she may try and fail, but she knew she NEEDED to do something…

So she didn’t let her fear of failure stop her from making a life-changing decision

She joined JGFIT about 6 months ago and hasn’t looked back since

And guess what?

She hasn’t failed, she hasn’t fallen off, she hasn’t given up

Because at JGFIT we preach sustainability, we don’t do fad diets, and we don’t cut out our fav foods:)

Congrats on this awesome transformation, building a lifestyle, and leaving toxic diet culture behind!!

Restricting the things you love will never work with weight loss

Because here’s what usually happens..

You start craving the cookie…but think you can’t have it on your “diet”

You can’t cheat!! It’s not saturday…

So you try and curb the craving…

You have a scoop of PB…but your still thinking about the cookie..

So you have a couple of chocolate chips…still thinking about the cookie

So then you have an apple to try and curb the craving further..

Now you are 3 snacks deep and are still craving the dang cookie…

I have a solution for you…HAVE THE COOKIE

And literally move on with your life..

This is almost always a lower calorie approach than eating your way around the thing you are really craving

The problem is, we think cookies are bad

So when we have 1..we say “screw it, I already ruined my day of eating, I’ll start on monday”

Then proceed to binge out until Monday

This is what restriction will always lead too..

So when you are on your fitness journey, try to think about the things you can add to your nutrition instead of taking away…

Focus on adding more protein, more veggies, more water, and even more of the foods you love in moderation

I used to think health and fitness were complicated…

I thought I needed to be in the gym 6 days per week..

I thought I had to meal prep for 5 hours on Sunday to be successful with my nutrition..

I thought that if I ate one thing “bad” it would ruin my progress

But honestly, these thoughts that I had to be perfect held me back for years..

I didn’t even want to start because it felt overwhelming.

So I’d make one “mistake” and say “screw it, I’ll start over on monday”

And it was a cycle..

All stemming from this thought that I needed to be perfect to see success

Can you relate?

Well here’s your reminder: You don’t have to be perfect to see success.

And honestly, if you expect perfection, you will always feel like a failure..

Realize that you don’t need to be spending hours meal prepping and working out each week

Simply start with going on walks, drinking water, and resistance training 3x per week.

Once you realize that you DON’T have to be perfect, you will create sustainability

𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐧𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦⁣

And not because my clients aren’t allowed to have treats..⁣

The problem with having a “cheat day” is that it creates the 𝘢𝘭𝘭-𝘰𝘳-𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵..⁣

It causes you to restrict yourself big time, then go 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐢𝐧 on this one day of the week..⁣

Then you feel guilty about it the next day⁣

When we think of eating certain foods as “𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨,” it makes us think that foods are either “𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝” 𝐨𝐫 “𝐛𝐚𝐝.” ⁣

This makes us feel like 𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 people when we have those “bad” foods.⁣

When you have a healthy relationship with food, you should be able to have those treats 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞..⁣

𝘛𝘣𝘩, 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰 “𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺,” 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 “𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘵..”⁣

If you need a day away from your diet then it’s a sign that what you are doing is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 ⁣

Planning cheat days in advance makes you restrict yourself all week up until that “cheat day..” ⁣

𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘢 𝘤𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺⁣

If your diet isn’t sustainable long-term, you probably need to make a shift. ⁣

How I would explain my metabolic accelerator method to a 5 year old 🙂

Hundreds of years ago, we had to hunt for food to survive

Sometimes, we would go days, even weeks without eating

But, our bodies are brilliant

They want to make sure we survive, at all costs..

So how were we able to live in times when food was minimal?

Metabolic adaptation..

This pretty much means your body slows down its processes in order to conserve as much energy as possible

Our body's main purpose is still the same as it was hundreds of years ago…to survive..

So when you aren’t eating enough food, your body doesn’t realize you could walk to the pantry and get a quick snack..

All it thinks is “crap, I don’t have enough food, time to slow everything down!”

Which is one of the main causes of a slow metabolism…

So how does my metabolic accelerator method work?

It’s simple..

We teach your body that food isn’t scarce..

We slowly implement more food, which allows your metabolism to speed up

Your body says “Hey, I’m not starving, time to burn more calories!”

So you are able to eat more food, while losing some body fat

This client had tried all the diets postpartum but couldn’t seem to lose the weight..

Well, she would go back and forth…

She would do a diet, lose 10lbs, then gain it back..

Or just get stuck in a plateau and not be able to make any more progress..

It was REALLY taking a toll on her..

She felt unconfident in her skin

She had no energy at the end of the day to play with her daughter

And she was tired..tired of not knowing where to start or what to do..

She thought in order to lose weight and tone her body, she needed to starve herself and go to they gym 5-6x per week

But it’s been totally opposite for her..

She’s dropped 10lbs while working out around 3x per week and eating MORE food than she was!!

She’s finally feeling like herself again, and reclaiming her health and confidence for life

If you can relate to this client and you want to finally get out of the cycle of fad dieting..message me “my turn” and we can chat about getting you some awesome results!

The dieting industry has failed us…

85-95% of the time, these fad diets don’t last..

Why?

Because they don’t teach you how to have a lifestyle…

Sure, anyone can follow the meal plan….

But what happens when life gets busy?

When you have a birthday party and none of the food fits in?

When you go on vacation for a week?

They don’t teach you how to handle scenarios that will undoubtedly happen

But what happens when you stop the diet…

You start eating carbs again, and you gain the weight right back

These diets just don’t set you up for realistic and long-term success…

If you want sustainability, you don’t need a quick fix or another diet..you need a forever lifestyle change
