Today was our Shorei Goju Ryu Black Belt Extravaganza, and I could not be more proud. Our students did an outstanding job demonstrating their skill, discipline, and spirit. It was truly wonderful to see both old and new friends come together, along with their students, to share in this experience.
Thank you to all of the students who came out to support those promoting to their next rank, and a sincere thank you to the parents who have given so much of their time, commitment, and encouragement to help their children reach this important milestone. Achievements like these do not happen overnightβthey are earned through dedication, perseverance, and strong support at home.
Congratulations to everyone who stepped onto the floor today. Your hard work showed, and you should be proud of what you accomplished.

FREE Training Opportunity for All Students!
I want to share something special with all of you.
My good friend, training partner, and mentor Steve Tarani, along with my friend Steven Lieberman of Artemis Defense Institute, are hosting a FREE 1-hour Zoom session on a topic every martial artist and self-defense practitioner should understand:
Preventive Defense: Soft Skills vs. Hard Skills
Thursday, December 11th, 2025 | 10:00β11:00 PM EST (Indiana Time)
(The later time is because this session is being presented live from the West Coast β so catch it before bedtime if youβre available.)
Most people think self-defense begins when the fight starts. But the truth is, the most dangerous fight is the one you never saw coming.
This workshop focuses on the soft skills β the situational awareness, pre-threat indicators, and decision-making tools that help you avoid conflict altogether.
Why I Want You There:
Iβve trained with Tarani for years. His experience, insight, and ability to teach situational awareness are unmatched. Every student β kids, teens, and adults β can benefit from this.
Steven Lieberman brings the legal understanding that responsible martial artists and protectors should absolutely know.
Both of these men are professionals I trust, respect, and continue to learn from.
What Youβll Learn:
β’ Recognizing early threat cues
β’ Avoiding escalation
β’ Moving safely through public spaces
β’ Legal responsibilities in defensive situations
β’ Real-world strategies you can use immediately

Highly recommended for all students and parents.
Preventive Defense: Soft Skills vs. Hard Skills - FREE Zoom Session
The Most Dangerous Fight is the One You Never Saw Coming. Most people believe self-defense is about what to do when violence is already upon them. They practice punches, kicks, and blocksβthe βhard skills.β But what if the most critical skill for your safety isnβt a physical move at all?

This past weekend, students of Lebanon Martial Arts Academy demonstrated hard work, spirit, and perseverance during their testing β and each was rewarded with advancement to their next Kyu rank. Your growth, discipline, and commitment continue to inspire everyone around you.
A special congratulations as well to those who reached major milestones, earning their Shodan (1st Dan), Nidan (2nd Dan), Sandan (3rd Dan), and Rokudan (6th Dan) ranks β achievements that represent years of dedication, training, and personal growth.
