2017-2023 Twinsburg Tigers Travel Baseball Team

This post is one we never intended or wanted to make, but we have to say something. Our baseball family is beyond devastated. Our hearts are broken. We will never be the same.

Yesterday, our team and our community lost an amazing coach and man, Jeff Luca. Most importantly, our friend lost her husband and our teammate and his siblings lost their father. While our grief is heavy, theirs is unfathomable.

And, we are realizing that for every broken heart on our team, there are countless other family members, friends, players, programs and strangers who have been touched by Jeff and are mourning his loss, too. His impact is immeasurable. And that is a beautiful yet heartbreaking realization.

Simply put, Jeff made people feel special - every player, parent, sibling, and relative. He had a way of engaging with kids and made sure they felt heard, understood and valued. He took the time to smile, to ask how their day was or “Did ya just get here?”, to explain things, and to COACH - not just in the game of baseball, but in life.

Because life is about more than baseball, and wins and losses. And yesterday reminded us all of that. It reminds us that every moment matters. People matter. And the impact you have on others will matter forever. We will always, always remember Coach Luca. And we will be there for Jen, Nate, Dylan and Rylie every day forward. Please hold their family close to your heart in these difficult days and in the quieter days that are ahead.

We are so fortunate to have had Coach Luca as part of our journey for the last eight years, and we know he’ll be a part of us all for the years to come.

This will be our last post for the 14U Twinsburg Tigers. Yes, it’s a cold day in October, but our team gathered one final time at our Grand Slam Sponsor, . Coach Mike gifted each player a wooden bat with their name, years played, cumulative record and # of championships.

It was an amazing run, with our longest-tenured players earning a 245-71-3 record and 29 ships. Equally as important is every player and family who came after that 8U year and contributed to the team’s success and camaraderie.

Of our 13 players, 11 will continue their travel baseball career as and two will focus on other sports. This is a special group that will stay friends for years to come.

14U Farewell_no interviews

Our 14U family had a great night celebrating an awesome season together at . The night included coach and player gifts, a highlight video, and reminiscing. But, it’s not over yet - bracket play at the starts today at 8 am. Let’s do this, Tigers. 💙⚾️

The 14U Tigers and their families are in Cincy for the Youth World Series and enjoyed a night out at the Giants vs. Reds game. Your Tigers went 1-1 on the day. We look forward to game three of pool play tomorrow at 2.

It was a beautiful night for baseball, but it just wasn’t our night. Your Tigers fell to Fennel Bros. Express, 8-2, despite playing solid baseball. FBE found every gap and made some impressive plays. Kudos.

While our run ended earlier than we hoped, we made some amazing memories both on and off the field. Thank you, Tigers.

Your Tigers made it to the semi-finals of the .elite Showcase’s Gold Bracket with an exciting 7–2 comeback win over Pittsburgh Outlaws. We take on Fennell Bros Express at 7:45 tonight. Send all the good vibes and mojo our way. Tigers on 3.

Your Tigers earned the top seed of the .elite Showcase Gold Bracket, just missing Platinum after going 2-1 in pool play and giving up just five total runs.

The team and their families have had a blast around Columbus including a late lunch at Beerhead Bar & Eatery New Albany, shopping at Easton Town Center and conquering The Escape Game.

Game 1 of bracket play is at 10:45 tomorrow. Tigers on 3.

On the heels of winning our third hometown tournament since 8U, the 14U Twinsburg Tigers Travel Baseball team is proud to share that our team will transition to T3 Warhawks Baseball for the 2024 15U season.

It has been an incredible journey for us over the last seven years. Since 8U, we have built a record of 234-61-2, earning 10 finalist titles and 29 championships, including one state title in 2020 and a Cinderella-story victory at Ripken’s Disney Heroes in Orlando in 2021.

It has been a privilege to wear "Twinsburg Tigers" on our chest since 2017. We hope we made our community, fans and Twinsburg’s youth baseball program proud. We can't wait to see what this team does as they continue to grow as teammates and friends with a premier baseball club next season.

Under the guidance of a director and MLB player that resides locally, the T3 team will be led by a non-parent head coach and train in the off-season at a new state-of-the-art facility in Beachwood. There has already been interest in available roster spots from non-Twinsburg players, and we anticipate hosting a tryout for the few open 15U positions. Congratulations to your 2023 14U Stars & Stripes Champions! What an honor to play in Twinsburg’s annual tournament AND earn the hardware. Congrats to Twinsburg Baseball League on a well-run tourney. Congrats to the 14U Twinsburg Tigers for finishing as runners-up in the Solon Comet Classic this past weekend. Congrats to Bobcats Baseball for earning the victory.
