“My face when someone tells me young children can’t learn to swim…” 😅

Meanwhile, I’ve watched children as young as 6 months old learn age-appropriate water survival skills.

If you’re looking for swim lessons for your child, here are 3 things I encourage every parent to look for:

1️⃣ Safety before everything else.
The goal isn’t tricks, jumps, or swimming underwater for social media. A quality program should focus on skills that help a child survive an unexpected water accident.

2️⃣ Developmentally appropriate instruction.
A 6-month-old, a 2-year-old, and a 6-year-old should not all be taught the same way. Look for an instructor who understands child development and tailors lessons to each child’s age, abilities, and needs.

3️⃣ Consistency and repetition.
Children learn through practice. Whether it’s a survival program or traditional lessons, progress happens when skills are reinforced consistently—not through occasional pool visits alone.

The truth is, young children are capable of so much more than most people realize. When taught appropriately, they can learn valuable water safety and swimming skills long before many people think possible.

The sooner the safer💙

Pool deck to bedtime. 🏊‍♀️☕️

Finishing up lessons, answering emails, planning schedules, chasing a toddler, and somehow finding time to get ready for another day in the water. Life is busy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🤍

100 problems... and remembering how to float solved every single one.
Okay, maybe not every problem.
But having a child who can independently roll to a float and rest in the water? That's one less thing to worry about this summer.

My peace looks like this. 🤍

Little faces lighting up with confidence.
Tiny hands reaching for the wall.
Floating independently.
Learning to breathe.
Learning to trust themselves in the water.

This is my purpose.
This is my passion.
And this is why I do what I do every single day.

Every skill learned matters. Every float counts.

If you ever like and share a post on my page, let this be the one.

As we head into pool season and a busy holiday weekend, let’s spread these reminders throughout our community and help reach as many families as possible. Water safety starts with layers of protection.

Memorial Day & Pool Season Safety Reminders:
• Check pool alarms, gates, locks, and replace batteries if needed
• Stay within arm’s reach of children in and around water at all times
• Remove toys from the pool when swim time is over
• Assign a designated Water Watcher during gatherings
• If a child is missing, always look in the water first

It only takes seconds, and drowning is often silent.

Please stay safe this weekend and all summer long.

Wishing everyone a safe Memorial Day weekend as we also remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom ❤️🤍💙

Even after teaching for years and working with so many incredible kiddos, this part never gets old.

Every single time a child gets their skill… every time they roll onto their back, find their float, or succeed in winter clothes… I still get a lump in my throat.

Because in that moment, I don’t just see a skill.
I see a child with a chance in an emergency.
I see confidence.
I see capability.
I see why I love what I do so much.

And I don’t think I’ll ever stop feeling grateful to witness these moments. 🤍
