This page is about Wing Chun. I teach Wing Chun from the perspective of all the information that I have learned over the years from all my teachers.

In class this morning.

My daughters are now the first 2 students I've ever formally taught this form to as my personal students.

These two students recently tested and passed their grade 3 test. So now they're both in sparring class and they're working on more Shuai Jiao based skills.

The first 3 "Beginner" grade levels are focused more on ground wrestling info. Now it's on to more stand up types of grappling.

The first one they're doing is called "Positional Control". This is in many grappling systems in different ways but is also used in Wing Chun. So with this exercise I'm presenting it in a more wrestling format for the "Youth Kung Fu" curriculum but actually I'm teaching them Wing Chun skills. So when they get to the point where they're in the "Adult Kung Fu" program they'll already have certain skills. So it won't be such a difficult process for them.

The second video is information that is seen in many grappling systems. It's very common in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Greco-Roman wrestling. However, it's also used in Shuai Jiao.

Tuesday night working with a couple students on Positional Control in grappling. This week is Grappling Range week and I'm going over stand up and ground wrestling with the students.

A lot of people don't understand what Shuai Jiao is. Even more believe there's no grappling in Wing Chun. It's very clear to those who understand, this directly connects to Chi Sau. Also, this is Shuai Jiao and it is 100% Wing Chun skill as well.

Things in this video connect to many things I teach in my system. This is not a stand alone drill.

Working on San Da this week with a focus on kicking. Tonight we worked on front snapping and front thrusting kicks to start out the class after the warm-up and stretching. The focus was heavy on speed and power.

After this we went into side kicks and roundhouse kicks. These are your 3 most likely types of kicks to use in a fight. When you add in the footwork along with the 3 types of kicks along with the 2 different energies. You end up having up to 36 possibilities of different kicking methods.

The students were smiling and sweaty by the end of class! They got good exercise, enjoyed themselves and learned a lot.
