Hello Eagles,

Great job at the last meet this weekend, it's crazy that the season is almost done. Just sending out some quick reminders.

Practice this week is at normal times except for Tuesday the 19th. Everyone practices at 8:30. We are doing a "Blue vs Green" meet with a bunch of fun relays and everyone is going at the same time.

For the families that I already talked to about allstars, I will be sending out an email tomorrow night with the list of Allstars that will say whether or not your swimmers made it, just be looking for that email.

Hello Eagles,

We have regular practice schedules this week, July 18 through the 22nd as we have had for the past many weeks. We have our banquet this Wednesday evening, and our divisional meet this Saturday, July 23. Practice for July 25th through the 29th we be held for All Star swimmers only, from 8:30 to 9:30 each morning. Coach Alec is in contact with potential All Star swimmers and will have more details for All Star families about the meet as the time approaches.

Time:
Warm-ups: Home Team at 5:00 pm, Away Team at 5:25 pm
The Meet will begin promplty at 6:00 pm. All people and items must be out of the pool area by 10:00 pm (no exceptions) per our HOA contract.

Parking:
Plentiful parking is available at the pool and in a large lot across Plaza Street next to a ball field. Please exercise caution when crossing Plaza Street.

Seating:
The home and visiting teams sit on opposite sides of the pool. We invite our visiting team to sit under and by the large umbrella that spans the length of the pool (you can't miss it!).

Concessions will be available! Walking Tacos tonight!! 🌮 😋

Just sending out a few reminders and our upcoming schedule for this week and the following:

🦅 Wed, July 13th- Meet @ Home vs Kinkaid Forest. Warm ups start at 5 pm so please arrive by 4:45. The theme is NEON so make sure to wear the brightest and craziest colors


🦅 Sat, July 16th- Tri Meet @ Franklin Park & Potomac Crossing. Warmups at 7 am so arrive at 6:45! Please commit your swimmers to this ASAP if you haven't done so already!!!


🦅 Tue, July 19th- Blue vs Green internal meet. EVERYONE practices at 8:30 am-10:00 am. We are all dividing ourselves up into two teams and doing a bunch of fun relays (t-shirt relay, kickboard relay etc.) Parents you are more than welcome to come and watch during their practice time! Really fun practice to attend while racing friends and teammates


🦅 Wed, July 20th- End of Season Banque. Potluck Dinner 6-7 pm, Awards 7-8 pm, Pool Party 8-9 pm. At the HOA clubhouse right next to the pool! 320 Plaza Street NE, Leesburg, VA 20176

🚨 Tonight’s meet
The weather looks good for a start to our meet. We would like to start early and move quickly. We therefore need everyone arrive roughly 15 minutes early; we're going to cut warm ups a few minutes short and try to start 15 minutes early, at 5:45, provided our volunteers and swimmers are present. We must exit the pool and deck at the sound of thunder or sight of lightening for 40 minutes; we will follow this rule to keep our families safe.

Coach Alec invites everyone to celebrate the 4th by dressing in patriotic attire that evening. Red/White/Blue wrist bands will be awarded to heat winners for individual events in lieu of heat ribbons.

🎉 Great job at the meet last night we all swam very hard in a tight meet. With some of our top swimmers out we still managed to make it a close meet.
Final score was 430 RRR and 410 EX.

🇺🇸 🎆 Because of 4th of July we do not have practice on Monday, July 4th. Our next meet in Wednesday July 6th vs Evergreen Meadows Makos @ Home.

🚨 Deadline for entries is EARLY this meet. All entries are due Tomorrow, Friday 7/1 at 7 pm!!! Please sign up your swimmers ASAP so we can get everything in. Also please make sure to put in the notes whether or not your swimmer will be able to do relays.

Hello Eagles- Divisionals & Banquet/Pool Party Info

1. Our divisional swim meet would usually be held on Saturday, July 23. Exeter will not host this year, and it is not yet determined by other teams if they will host. I will keep you posted.

2. Our banquet IS scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, July 20. Many thanks to Samantha Herring for volunteering to coordinate it. We first enjoy a potluck dinner followed by an awards ceremony. The HOA kindly allows us the exclusive use of the pool after the awards ceremony into the evening. Details will follow.

3. The signup deadline for Wednesday’s meet at Red Rock is TONIGHT at 7:00. PLEASE sign up now if you haven’t already, and consider signing up for all upcoming meets now, too. Remember to note your availability for relays.

Hello Eagles,

🚨 If you haven't already, NOW is the time to sign up for our upcoming Wednesday meet; the deadline is 7:00 pm, Sunday, June 26. A few notes for our newer families follow.

1) Committing to an event does not mean your swimmer will be approved for that event. Coach Alec has the final say on the events our swimmers are assigned. He may not approve an event for a variety of reasons, i.e. if he regularly sees that the swimmer is unable to swim the event in our pool during practice properly, etc.

2) If you want to participate in relays, please type that in the notes section when you sign up. If you are unable or not interested in staying for relays, please type that as well. If you are assigned a relay, please do stay for it!

3) Please check in with Coach Alec if you leave before relays, even if you are not assigned a relay. He may need to swap swimmers for relays and knowing who is available makes that easier.

🚨 Weather Concerns for this evening:

Thunderstorms are projected during our meet tonight. Delays and cancellations will be announced as soon as we make a decision, in conjunction with our coach and the management and coach of our invited team. Every time we see or hear thunder, we must exit the pool area for 40 minutes. We have every hope of holding a full meet tonight but are subject to the weather.

Below is how you can sign up to receive text alerts. Until you hear otherwise, please plan to have your swimmers in the water for warm-ups at 5:00 as scheduled.

Please note the events your swimmers are in and PLEASE be sure to stay for relays if you are in one (another one of our swimmers left early on Saturday, throwing relays into confusion at the last minute).

If you are signed up to volunteer, please arrive early. Not showing up when you have signed up for a job throws us into unnecessary confusion and leaves us scrambling to fill your role.

Coach Notes:
We have a meet next Saturday 6/18 @ Tavistock
We need everyone's entries declared and finalized by Wednesday 6/15 @ 8 pm or else your swimmer will not be entered.
Make sure in the "Notes" section when you sign your swimmer up that you put whether your swimmer can do a relay or not. We don't want to be scrambling at the first meet if you didn't tell me you couldn't stay for a relay and I put your swimmer in.

Starting Thursday, June 16th our practices are going to switch to the morning. Arrive 10 minutes early to get used to the switch. We will have all of the lanes available instead of the normal three in evening practice. Practice times are also posted on the team website.

Morning practices (Mon thru Fri)-based on age as of June 15, 2022.

7-8AM: 9-10, 11-12

8-9AM: 8 and under

9-10AM: 13 and up

🚨 Signing up and committing your swimmers for time trials needs to be done by Wednesday 6/8 at 8pm! So please do it as soon as possible! 🚨

This is done through the team unify page or the OnDeck app under events. (Pictures below for example)

Click Events & Meet Entries
This week’s commitment will be for the June 11th Time Trials
Click Declare for that date
Choose your swimmer (you will do this for each child you have registered)
It will ask do you want to sign up your child.
Click yes
Tap the blue line so that the drop down of stroke choices will appear
Click choices and hit apply

For time trials I would recommend your swimmer sign up for as many events that they feel comfortable and able to swim legally so we can get a baseline time for them. If your swimmer is 8 and under I would recommend they only sign up for freestyle and maybe backstroke unless they have swam before and you have seen them swim fly or breast before. We will be working on all the strokes this week at practice.

Exeter Eagles Swim Team here is some helpful tips to whoever needs it on signing up to volunteer for meets.

The easiest way to do it is download the free app OnDeck, available to iPhone and Android users. (Pictured below)

The video attached to this post will show you how to sign up for an example as a timer.

This works as long as you are a TeamUnify customer. So whichever parent/guardian registered swimmers on our website and has a sign in. Once you sign into the app your good to go from your phone!

Open the app, click the three lines in the top left of the screen.
Click Job manager and you will see a list of future meets.
Click the date of the meet you are going to sign up for.
Find the position you want to sign you or your partner up for, in this example we choose timer.
Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Fill
At the top type the last name of the person you are looking to add. In this example it is Shadwick
Select the plus symbol
It will ask you if you are signing up yourself OR other.
In this example I am signing up my husband Andy.
Fill out name and contact number and add
Hit Save
You can click the the box to the left of the name and make any needed corrections or delete.

Good afternoon Exeter Eagles Swim Team
Here is swim team practice Just a reminder that practice starts this Wednesday June 1st! From the 1st to the 15th we will be having practice in the afternoons. The practice schedule is below. Keep in mind that there are no practices Friday evenings of June 3rd and June 10th. For practice please arrive around 10 minutes early to get your swimmmer organized and ready to go with their suit, goggles, kickboard, and maybe their fins(not required but help teach certain strokes a lot easier). We only have 3 lanes available for practice in the afternoons because we share it with the community so it might be a little hectic just wait and listen and we will call over the swimmers when we are ready for practice.

5-6PM (8 and under)
