My “fast food” no-cook Saturday night. While the pizzas were cooking, my boys and I snacked on fresh raw veggies with hummus. The cauliflower crust one is for my husband and I (if I leave him any) and the ancient grains one is currently being devoured by the boys. We even added some fresh basil for extra greens (nutrients!) Easy, fast, healthful and super tasty.
If not you, who? If not now, when? The start of a new year is a great time to regain focus on what matters...and WHO matters most in YOUR life. I know far too many women who have spent their lives taking the best care of those around them all while putting their self-care on the back burner. There comes a point when that must stop and the time is NOW. Waiting will only make you sicker, or fatter or unhappier or all of the above. Can you relate? How many more years will go by until you start taking care of YOU? So, if you read last week I advised to begin by simply drinking more water. If you haven’t focused on that yet, start NOW. If you’re good there, let’s move on and focus on breakfast. What do YOU eat to fuel your day? Is it serving you or keeping you from your health goals. Post here or message me and we can discuss!

I’m here to help so that this is your last year of resolutions, it’s very freeing, I know from experience. So, if you’re reading this and just don’t know where to start, drink more water. Cold and flu session is upon us, are you ready? I am stocked with my supplies for keeping my family healthy through this sniffly, cough-y, sore throat-y time of year. First and foremost, lay off the sugar (ok, ok, not so easy, I know.) With Halloween right around the corner just do your best to limit it, especially those kiddos! Just a teaspoon of sugar will weaken the immune system allowing for any lurking "bugs" to settle and and attack! One way to begin fighting the battle now...vitamin C. Even conventional doctors are pushing this powerful nutrient as germ season begins. This one is my favorite, it's easy and the whole family likes the taste. Just a good (and funny) reminder... Did you know by simply drinking enough water every day you can increase energy, decrease cravings and speed up your weight loss?? It’s so simple but not so easy for everyone. Make sure you always have a water bottle nearby and are refilling it frequently. At least 8 cups a day (64oz) is a great start.
