Meet one of our longtime SKA Rockstars, Mason! 🥋⭐

Ever since he was little, Mason DREAMED of doing karate! When his family moved to Lehi, that dream became a reality when he joined SKA. And now, FOUR YEARS LATER, he's getting closer to one of the biggest milestones in his karate journey—earning his JUNIOR BLACK BELT! 🥋🔥

Through years of dedication, Mason has developed some incredible SUPERPOWERS:

💪 PERSEVERANCE – Pushing through challenges and never giving up!

🥋 BODY MECHANICS – Understanding how to move with strength, precision, and control!

⭐ RESPECT & ETIQUETTE – Demonstrating the discipline and character of a true martial artist!

But what makes Mason's story even more special is that he's been part of the SKA family since our EARLY YEARS! ❤️

When asked why he loves SKA, Mason shared:

Meet one of our SKA Rockstars, Jude! 🥋⭐

Jude started karate because he wanted to learn MORE about martial arts and discover all the awesome things karate has to offer! 👊

And along the way, he's developed an AMAZING SUPERPOWER:

⭐ BEING A FIRST-TIME LISTENER! 👂💪

That's a BIG deal! Learning to listen the first time helps Jude stay focused, show respect, and become a stronger martial artist both ON and OFF the mats! 🔥

When asked why he loves SKA, Jude said it best:

This photo speaks a thousand words. 🥋🖤

This is the moment I live for as an instructor.

After 7 years of training, Calvin stepped onto the floor and endured 3 grueling hours of physical and mental testing to earn his Black Belt.

But this photo isn’t really about the belt.

Look at Calvin’s face. Look at his family. You can see seven years of hard work, sacrifice, challenges, victories, setbacks, and growth all captured in one moment.

You can see how proud his family is of him.

And maybe most importantly, you can see how proud Calvin is of himself.

A Black Belt isn’t something we simply hand to a student. It represents the person they had to become to earn it—the discipline to keep showing up, the courage to push through difficult moments, and the perseverance to stay the course year after year.

As an instructor, these are the moments that mean everything to me. Watching a student realize, “I did it. All that work was worth it.”

Calvin, you earned this moment.

Seven years in the making. Three hours to prove it. A lifetime to carry it with you.
