Stuck doom-strolling your phone on Labor Day weekend? Here's what you're missing! The Tall T trail is awesome! Riders are using it in ways I didn't expect. Lots of bikes coming across the mountain from Park City, doing out-and-backs and loop rides through Tall T. "Instant classic" type trail. But definitely not for beginners or the out-of-shape. The UMB trail page has tons of photos and directions on trailheads and routes to Tall T: https://utahmountainbiking.com/trails/Tall-T/

Here's the latest info on Prospector View in Santaquin Canyon. The Belly Wash DH is finished from the top of Brownstone down to the bottom of Little May. New intermediate DH Holladay also on the south side. Skills park has great wall turns. Info: utahmountainbiking.com/trails/ProspectorView/

The new southern segment of the Herriman Bonneville Shoreline (BST) creates some very nice loop rides. It circles the mountain between two limbs of Eric's Trail. Short quick loop, or extended rides that include Mustang, upper Eric's, Mosey, Rawhide, etc. Info here: https://utahmountainbiking.com/trails/BST-Herriman/

The new Fort Canyon DH jump line is suitable for upper-intermediate riders. The DH is 1.1 miles with 450 vertical; 2.7 miles to roll the loop from the Fort Canyon Ranch trailhead. Great views, too. Web page and video: https://utahmountainbiking.com/trails/Fort-Canyon-DH/

Wondering what the rebuilt upper Carpe Diem is like? And the tweaks and reroutes on the lower half? Here's a trip down Carpe Diem top to bottom: natural perspective; a good view of the trail surface; and slow enough to actually see the features. Mud Springs isn't your typical Moab trail system. Flow trails. Probably not the reason you'd drive all the way to Moab, cuz the Wasatch is full of nice flow trails. But these trails could be very fun for your kids and spouse, and hey, Mud Springs has great flow trails. Here's the info: https://utahmountainbiking.com/trails/mud-springs/

The new Falcon Climb is a one-way uphill trail that creates a 9-mile 1150-vertical loop when you ride Falcon Flow. Sure beats grinding those miles up Sand Flats Road! (Full disclosure: you do have to ride a little bit of the road near the top, so you'll still eat a bit of dust.)

In Moab for Memorial Day weekend?
Catch some culture after your ride!
The Grass Roots Shakespeare Company is doing "Much Ado About Nothing" Saturday 5/23 7 pm in Swanny City Park, then "Anthony and Cleopatra" Sunday 5/24 4 pm at the Moab Arts & Rec Ctr.
FREE admission!
(This post is bike-related because (A) it's Moab, and (B) our aging biking hero Bruce is playing acoustic bass for the warm-up musical act, as an excuse to ride a couple of new trails in Moab. Say hello!)

You'll want to see this. Here's the new Chasing The Sun trail on western Lake Mountain, done as a 7-mile 1200 vert loop using Fistful of Dollars and Deadwood as the lower downhill. Also, your chance to hear Bruce's hostile biking songs "Crash Into You" and "E-Bike Hater."
