I ALWAYS want to make it to the destination. Whether it's a mountaintop or frozen lake I always want to make it to my goal. Today I decided to turn around before I reached the lake. It was the smart thing. The snow is beautiful but it can be unforgiving. Know your limits and stay safe out there!

I've been putting together some videos from our trip to Italy (finally). This is one from a day in the Dolemite Alps in northern Italy. I cut out a few segments and sped it up so you don't see how slow I really climb 🤣 (don't worry mom I promise I'm not this fast or shaky on the bike). I did this snowshoeing trail last week. Much more solitude on this one. I only saw one other group of snowshoers heading past Silver Flat. The trail from there was deep snow and a tough workout.

Learning to snowshoe long trails reminds of getting my "climbing legs" when I first started biking the canyons. There's a learning curve when it comes to how long certain trails and elevations will take you. One heck of a workout though!
