Hosted in 2023 for the first time in Durango, CO , the Valkyrie Multisport Relay spans over 100 miles of Durango's spectacular city and nauturescapes. The event features teams of up to 9 (4 - 9) specialized competitors exchanging between road running, trail running, mountain biking, stand-up paddle boarding, open water swimming, road cycling, and canoe/kayak paddling.

The Valkyrie Relay is Utah’s only multisport relay race, spanning nearly 100 miles of Utah’s spectacular ‘Wasatch Back’ mountain range. The event pits teams of up to 9 specialized competitors against each other, racing against the clock, and exchanging between trail running, kayak/canoe paddling, road running, mountain biking, stand-up paddle boarding, open water swimming, and road cycling. The race will take place June 18, 2022, and consists of four events: Full, Sprint, Marathon, and Half—everything culminating with an all-day Expo (Endurance Sports Summit) at the finish line. Marathon

The Heber Valley Marathon & Half, and the Valhalla 5K Run/Walk & Pursuit are stand-alone races held concurrently with the Valkyrie Multisport Relay. Both the Marathon and Half-Marathon can each be run as traditional races, or as two-person relay teams. The Marathon begins at the Rock Cliff Nature Center at 6:00am, June 18, 2022, and the Half Marathon starts at Midway City Ice Rink at 7:30am. The Marathon and contiguous Half Marathon course will be USATF-certified by race day. The Heber Valley Marathon course distance is certified for accuracy and is valid as a qualifying event for large market races such as the New York and Boston Marathons.

Marathon & Half

The Tour of Heber Valley Marathon & Half pays homage to Utah’s celebrated Central Wasatch. Marathon and Half Marathon runners compete on the comparatively cool, scenic highways and country roads of Wasatch County, Midway, and Heber City, Utah. The first half of the full Marathon is a capricious B-line to Midway town center, pairing a 646 ft climb with a 1083 ft descent. The second half (also the Half Marathon) meanders through the tree-lined neighborhoods and past green pastures of Midway and Heber City before arriving at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center (SHNC) and Finish Line at the Endurance Sports Summit.
