Well this is going to be interesting. Looks like I'm going to be paddling in near freezing temperatures on Sunday :(
Well guys, less than 12 hours to launch time!
Things have taken shape very nicely.
The weather looks great for Saturday and Sunday. Our fundraising efforts today were very successful and I'm pain free (long story)
Live reports will be made during the event.
The weather forecast for Friday looks pretty bleak. Twelve hours of rain mixed with eight hours of thunder and lightning with some gusting wind thrown in.
So, I've decided to postpone the launch until 7:00 am on Saturday. the remainder of the weekend is going to be clear and sunny but a bit windy. Unfortunately, I'll only be able to get in two trips around the lake instead of the planned three.

Just a little less than five days until Kayak for the Cure 2024 gets underway!
Regrettably, the weather forecast does not look agreeable. Though, predictions do vary wildly. No matter, Kayak for the Cure will launch on time and will be successful!
I launch at 7:00 on 9-6.
Time is short!
According to my timer I have 18 ½ days until Kayak for the Cure 2024 begins!
This is just enough time to get in another major training trip. I’m going to head to Alum Creek (again) and complete two laps The mileage on this trip will exceed the miles covered in the original Kayak for the Cure trip in 2022.

The weather is looking pretty good for Friday! I'm heading back to Alum Creek for another full lake run.
This time I'm going to try and simulate being overworked and tired. To do that, I maintained my four day a week strength training regiment with some cardio. That should make the trip a little harder.
