Rodeo arena located in Old Town Lewisville The official name is now the Bill Weaver Arena. He was named “Citizen of the Year” in 1964.
The City of Lewisville renamed the rodeo arena to former Mayor Bill Weaver, to recognize and honor his role in the venue’s creation. Weaver was elected mayor in April 1963, and twice more in 1965 and 1967. He left office in 1969 after serving six years. Gates open at 4 p.m., live music by Dustin Perkins at 6:30 p.m., and the bull riding starts at 8 p.m.

Lewisville will mark its 100th birthday in 2025, and the City is gearing up for a year-long celebration. Get ready to see a lot more of this logo around town as announcements are made about new centennial-related activities.
We'll launch a new Centennial Celebration website in December, and everyone should come check out the Centennial Celebration booth at Old Town Holiday Stroll on Dec. 6-7 to learn more about tours and events and for the chance to purchase special Centennial-branded merchandise.
