One of the best parts of coaching has nothing to do with improving a golf swing.
It’s watching a player go from:
“I can’t do that.”
to “Maybe I can.”
to “Coach, I did it!”
and eventually…
“What else can I do?”
That’s the transformation I’m looking for.
Yes, I want my players to hit better shots, shoot lower scores, win tournaments and reach their goals. But great coaching should do more than produce better golfers.
It should build confidence.
It should raise standards.
It should teach them how to prepare, compete and respond when things get hard.
And most importantly, it should help young people begin to see what they’re capable of.
Sometimes a player just needs someone who believes in them long enough for them to start believing in themselves.
The trophies are special. The victories are memorable.
But watching a young athlete’s belief in themselves change?
That’s why I coach.
Great coaches don’t just change games.
Great coaches are life changers.
