After visiting the 1410 Grunwald battlefield earlier last week, I picked up as set of Wargames Atlantic Mounted Knights to mark the occasion. As I opened the box, I was filled with dread, as I remembered all the cursing I usually associate with putting together plastic figures.
To my amazement, that was not the case. These are really nicely designed figures and fit together very well. Having struggled with poorly held weapons and gaps between arms and torsos over the past decade, these are a dream to put together. A small bit of putty on the two halves of the horses is all that is needed. Flash is minimal and cleans up easily. Heads are designed so the reigns fit perfectly and any gaps highlight the reigns. Parts all fit together logically -well most do, as I am not sure which part of the saddle goes forward. But besides the issue with the saddles, the new design is light years ahead of other plastic products I have assembled over the last 10 or maybe now 20 years (Wargames Factory Greeks and Persians are still serving my needs). Picture for attention.
PS I have no connection with Wargames Atlantic.
