I Am Third - PDA

Congratulations to the Girls U11 Blue Lionesses for winning the Kick Off Classic at Lexington Sporting Club over the weekend!

Despite losing their first game 6-1 to Total Futbol Academy (Cincinnati) in their first game, the Lionesses roared back in the championship game and beat TFA 2-0.

“The girls showed a special resilience this weekend,” said coach Christian Moore. “After the first game, which was a huge loss, the spent the time between games playing together and becoming friends. It showed on the pitch as they only gave up one more goal on the next three games.

We have a completely new team. Not more than three players had played together before this season. A lot of credit goes to the parents for working to create a team culture where the girls can learn to like and love each other.

A championship is nice, but these girls learning how to play for each other is the bigger win. I am truly proud of them.”

The Lionesses start their regular season in the KPL next week.
