It’s 2026 and you’ve got big goals in your running. It’s time for you to hire a running coach!

Why hire a coach?
1) Individualization

Coaches can provide a plan built specifically for you! Tailor-made around your life stress, your goals, your strengths/weaknesses and your running history! Simply following a pre-built plan can’t do that for you.

🚩 - Red flags to look out for however are coaches that give all runners the same workouts. While the could be designing a great workout, if everyone is doing the same thing, you’re following a plan, not following something written with YOU in mind.

2) Accountability
A Coach provides both the accountability to get out the door, but also the accountability to not go too hard too quick. This allows you to receive the maximal adaptions, while also emphasizing longevity and recovery.

🚩 - Does your coach periodically check in? If not, they should! If they don’t, are they actually looking at your training?

3) Community
By having a coach, you have someone in your corner! Someone to bounce ideas off of, but also someone to encourage you, cheer for you, and check in with you as you are going throughout your training! Maybe your coach coaches others as well. That would be a great way to build connection with other people with big goals!

4) Less mental stress!
This is the top reason why I hired a coach. I LOVE writing training, but when you are coming up with your own plan each day, it can provide and extra stressor and some overthinking that could be a hindrance to your training. Having a coach requires trust and when you trust what is put down and you can see the progress happening, you are able to simply wake up and follow what’s on the paper!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

We are less than 4 weeks out from a deep dive into training and coaching that can be applied for runners of all abilities and goals!

Following up, on our training program from last year, we will be partnering with to set up an opportunity for YOU to find out how training for a race actually works and connect with a coach if that is of interest to you!

Be on the lookout for an opportunity soon!
