Math up, Lexington! Getting vaccinated + wearing a mask + physical distancing = the path to community immunity to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Lexington’s 7-day rolling average of new COVID-19 cases is 224/day after 226 cases were reported Friday.
If you are unvaccinated, get the shot! Free COVID-19 vaccines are also available by same-day appointment every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in our Public Health Clinic at 650 Newtown Pike. Call 859-288-2483 to schedule your appointment. Our Public Health Clinic offers the Moderna and Janssen vaccines for ages 18 and older and the Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 and older.
If you are immunocompromised and received your second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine at least four weeks ago, you are eligible for a third dose. Call 859-288-2483 to schedule your same-day appointment, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Learn more at http://www.lfchd.org/3rd-dose/!
Both vaccinated and unvaccinated populations can help slow the outbreak by:
• Avoiding close contact with people who are sick, especially those with COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, muscle/body aches, loss of taste/smell, nausea, etc.);
• Covering coughs and sneezes;
• Avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth;
• Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds;
• Wearing a face covering in crowded public areas.
We update Lexington’s COVID-19 numbers Monday-Friday at lfchd.org.

This is way overdue. Glad TCHS is finally going to be updated.
This Lexington high school was built in 1965. It’s about to get a big renovation. A design consultant will be hired next month to launch an estimated $16 million renovation of Tates Creek High School which was built in 1965 and last updated in 1993, according to Myron Thompson, chief operating officer for Fayette County Public Schools.
