Join us on June 6th in Morehead, KY for a day on the trails at the Big Turtle. This year we’re focusing on keeping the race sustainable and welcoming, so we’ve simplified the event and are excited to bring runners together for an incredible day in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

If you need a coupon code due to the cancellation of RRG in 2025, please reach out to us directly via Facebook Messenger and we’ll get you taken care of.

Important: You must register using the provided code in order to be included in the event. If you do not complete your registration with the code, you will not be on the participant list.

We want to make sure everyone who is eligible is properly registered - so don’t skip that step!

Big Turtle 50K – Official 2026 Race Date & Registration Announced!

You may have heard the rumors… and it’s true.

We’ve officially moved the Big Turtle 50K to June 6th!

The date shift helps accommodate a few races that had to reschedule due to winter weather this year. We wanted to be thoughtful about the broader trail community calendar while also choosing a weekend that gives us the best chance for great trail conditions and an incredible race-day experience.

Bluegrass Reaper Challenge The Bluegrass Reaper Challenge is on Saturday August 12, 2023. It includes the following events: 50K, Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 50K Relay.

I wanted to share a quick update with our community. Moving forward, I (Brandy) will be running Next Opportunity Events solo. I’m currently working through planning and logistics and actively building out our 2026 race calendar.

I truly appreciate everyone’s patience and continued support as I finalize dates and details for the upcoming season. I’m excited about what’s ahead and can’t wait to share more soon.

Big Turtle 2.0 The Big Turtle 2.0 is on Saturday April 26, 2025. It includes the following events: 50 Miler, 50K, and 10 Miler.

!!!!RRG Ultra - Cancellation/Virtual Option!!!
We've had to make the difficult decision to cancel the in-person RRG Ultra this weekend. The state has declared a state of emergency, and after consulting this morning with our local Search and Rescue teams all have agreed that the most prudent option right now is avoid putting people in the woods with rising waters (the races have many creek crossings) and high winds.

All runners have been sent an email with options to run virtually or receive free entry to the 2025 or 2026 Big Turtle races in Morehead. (Yes as a result of this cancellation, we will be doing Big Turtle in 2026 to give these runners more options to run in person).
