The South Lexington Lions Club meets twice a month on Thursdays, at 6:30, Gattitown, Nicholasville Rd All for free. Bring your kids and your dogs!

We have given the gift of SIGHT to three kiddos in the last month. I was given smiles, challenged by language twice, but these kids can see better today because of one of the things LIONS do! A smile transcends all languages ❤️🦁😊

Lexington South Lions Club cooked supper tonight at Ronald McDonald House.... Shepherd's pie and yummy blueberry cobbler with ice cream!! Our chief chef, David Gasper did all the planning.

Lexington South Lions Club members Susan and Doug Dance were on channel 27 Friday morning to share about the upcoming Run for Sight. . . Saturday April 4 at Masterson Station Park start time 9am. We have almost 100 door prizes plus Carrabba's will be serving lunch, we will have North Lime Donuts, BIGBY Coffee and fresh fruit. Register at www.lionsrunforsight.com

Our jobs for the weekend....we volunteer at the SAHIBA Spring Horse show - Arabian horses of all sorts! Their group is one of the sponsors for the Run for Sight and in turn, we work their show.

Special guests at our meeting-Teresa Hart with LIONS PROJECT. Hewhig X and Harmo y IV were the 4-legged guests. These folks along with Canine Companions raise and train service dogs for people with all types of disabilities. The dogs go thru extensive training in order to serve their person.

2024 Run for Sight is complete. We arrived at Masterson Station before daylight to set up tables and get the coffee brewing. People started coming as the sun came up. By race time, there was 203 registered - participants from 2-87 years old. We had dogs, babies in strollers, families running together, the Lion, sunshine and blue skies. It was a bit cool but all in all, we had a wonderful morning for the race. Thanks to all our sponsors, donors, and friends and especially all the runners who came out! See you all next April.
