A huge part of the Para Show Jumping movement is raising awareness and changing perceptions about disabilities! Many people don’t know much about disabilities — which is ok! We as para-riders know and understand this; so while it may be uncomfortable or awkward to ask questions, please don’t be afraid to ask! We welcome the opportunity to answer questions and help people learn more about what it is like for those of us living with a disability!
Education and exposure raise awareness, which in turn fosters understanding. Simply talking about disabilities and asking questions is a great first step towards making our society more inclusive and accepting of people with disabilities (which don’t forget, are often invisible)!

We are thrilled to announce that the first Para-Show Jumping demonstration in North America is going to be held at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day event, attended by 80,000+ spectators, at the Kentucky Horse ParkPark this April!
This is a huge milestone in our sport, as it is contributing to the growth and accessibility of horse sport by making it more accessible to people with disabilities. Getting to this point has been years in the making, but demonstration classes are one of the final steps the governing bodies want to see before deciding to move forward with regulating the discipline, and thus play a pivotal role in the overall process. Ultimately, this will help establish greatly needed resources, pathways, and competition opportunities for riders with disabilities to participate in the jumping disciplines.
A huge thank you to Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Eventay Event and Equestrian Events, Inc. or their support, as well as to US Equestrian - all of whom are helping to empower change on both a national and international level within the equestrian community!
Follow along for the ride on our new North America IG page!

As many of you know, US Equestrian recently released their new Diversity & Inclusivity Statement, which bodes well for the advancement of Para-Show Jumping here in the US (and Canada)! I've been working on compiling a database of athletes who are interested in being involved in this movement as we move forward with trying to put together some demonstration classes. If we haven't already spoken, and you're interested in being added to this database, please reach out!

Hi everyone!
We're trying to get some basic info to create a rider database. Please help by answering the following questions (if you don’t feel comfortable answering any of them, feel free to leave them blank). Thanks!
1. What title best describes you? (Athlete/rider, coach, trainer, horse owner, family/friend, sponsor, etc.) If filling out for someone else, what is the rider's name?
2. Do you have a physical limitation? If so, what is it? (In para-equestrian sport individuals are divided into different competition grades based on their functional abilities.)
3. Do you currently ride? If so, what discipline?
4. Do you compete? Currently or in the past? At what level? If you have a physical limitation, did you compete with this limitation?
5. What accommodations, if any, do you use to ride?
6. Have you ever jumped? (This is not necessary to be interested in becoming a para-jumper!)
7. Where are you located?
8. What is your age?
9. Contact info
10. Feel free to give any other info about yourself you want to share!

We are trying to compile a list of trainers/coaches that currently work with, or are open to working with, hunter/jumper or eventing riders with disabilities. Please leave a comment below with your past or current trainers, or if you are a trainer yourself who is interested in being added to the list! Thank you!
