New to the gym? Looking for new climbing partners? Want to meet others working on the same grades as you?

Our meetups are casual, welcoming sessions designed to help you connect with other climbers in the LEF community.

🧗 New Member Meetup — Meet fellow new climbers, learn the ropes, and get comfortable in the gym.

🪢 Belay Meetup — Find new belay partners, practice your skills, and build confidence on ropes.

🟡🔴 Red/Yellow Meetup — For climbers working through our easier circuits.

🟢⚪ Green/White Meetup — For climbers looking to tackle intermediate challenges and continue developing their skills.

🔵⚫ Blue/Black Meetup — For advanced climbers looking to connect, share beta, and push themselves on harder climbs.

Each meetup is self-selected based on the grades you’re currently climbing. A LEF staff member will be around to facilitate introductions, offer tips and tricks, lead fun climbing games, and share technique drills to help you improve.

Learn the fundamentals of belaying, communication, and rope systems so you can climb confidently with a partner.

🔹 Learn to Lead
Ready for the sharp end? Our two-part lead clinic covers clipping techniques, rope management, catching falls, dynamic belaying, and everything you need to begin lead climbing safely indoors. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to earn your lead certification after completing the course.

No matter where you are in your climbing journey, our classes are designed to help you build skills, confidence, and independence on the wall.

Join us for Adaptive Climbing Night at LEF Climbing in partnership with Catalyst Sports.

These monthly sessions are designed to make climbing accessible, welcoming, and empowering for individuals with physical disabilities, visual impairments, neurological conditions, and anyone who may benefit from adaptive support. Whether it’s your first time climbing or you’re a seasoned crusher, our volunteers and staff are here to help you reach new heights.

Adaptive Climbing Night is about more than climbing—it’s about building confidence, fostering connection, and creating a community where everyone belongs.

Curious about climbing but not sure where to start? 🧗

Climbing 101 is the perfect introduction to the sport. Whether you’ve never climbed before or you’re looking to build a stronger foundation, this 4-week clinic is designed to help you gain confidence, learn the fundamentals, and become part of the climbing community.

Over four weeks, you’ll learn:
✅ Basic climbing movement and technique
✅ Footwork fundamentals
✅ Route reading and problem-solving
✅ Gym etiquette and terminology
✅ Tips to help you climb more efficiently and have more fun

But the learning doesn’t stop when class ends.

Your registration includes a full LEF membership for the entire 4-week duration of the clinic** #, giving you unlimited access to the gym so you can practice what you learn between sessions. We encourage you to immerse yourself in the LEF community—join a member meetup, attend one of our free classes, find new climbing partners, and discover all the ways climbing can become part of your life.

Our experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and develop your skills.

🚨 GEOLOGY HIKE RESCHEDULED 🚨

Due to the forecasted weather this weekend, we are moving our Geology Hike to **Saturday, July 25th**.

If you were planning to join us, don’t worry—everything else remains the same! We’ll still be heading to the Red River Gorge with our friends from the University of Kentucky Geology Department for a day of hiking, learning, and exploring the incredible geology that makes the Gorge such a world-class climbing destination.

Join us for a hike with our friends from the University of Kentucky Geology Department to learn the answers to all those questions and more!

We will be meeting in the LEF Climbing parking lot at 8:00am on June 27th.

The UK Geology Department has been kind enough to loan us some vans to carpool down to the Red River Gorge where we will start our hike. Plan to return around 5pm.
