Our son turning 11 made me realize I’ve been running my Personal Training business primarily out of the Lexington Athletic Club for over 10 years now! I love this gym! I am so thankful they allow independent contractors and that I can run a business here!

The gym has everything I need and then some- multiple weight rooms, basketball court, sauna, pool, indoor soccer, walking track, outdoor area, and a lot more.

The 2 ladies in the videos have been training with me the entire time I’ve been at this location! Crazy! One is over 60, the other is over 70 and they still both kick ass! Im so grateful for them and everyone else who trains with me!

What I’m working on this year.

1. @landmineuniversity lifts. Followed Coach Alex for awhile and love the progressive overload to rotational based lifts. Pictured is the first day i did that lift with any weight. Heading to one of their coaching seminars next week in San Diego and I’m pumped to learn more and this lift hopefully will look smoother soon!

2. Coiling lunges- lots of them and many varieties. Went to @weckmethod last month to get certified in Rotational Movement Training (RMT) and learned more in detail the foundations of their training. The Coil feels nice!

3. Throwing stuff.

4. Rope flow. Lotsa rope flow- I have everyone I train doing this as well so i get lotsa reps demoing during sessions while im working. @thedavidweck and @erodingweakness are big on this and it was a key part of the RMT cert.

5. Trying to be elastic, bouncy.

6. Fun/stupid goal. I want to level up my human flag. It doesnt serve much purpose, and having no gymnastics background i probably force this move too much and exacerbate some imbalances. But its fun, my nieces thought it was cool when i did it last summer- i gotta try to stay cool and less cringe with the young ones, and it doesnt feel like its much of an injury threat, so i play. Want to get to where i can do it on an actual flagpole and not have a pain face.

7. Efficient workout time/energy wise. On a day where i do an explosive landmine or kb press variation i can get these plyo pullups in too and crank out a few rounds for a fairly decent all around upper body explosive day. 01/17/2026

It's True, Hot Baths Burn Calories 08/13/2019

So many good points in this article- like comparing the logic that its ok to drink a coke if you exercise enough to burn those calories is the same as its ok to insult someone if you give them a nice compliment after.

It's True, Hot Baths Burn Calories ... but that’s low on the list of benefits.

The Money Spent Selling Sugar to Americans is Staggering 07/18/2019

Our 4 year old son recently said: “Daddy, I only like 4 things. Shane (his buddy from daycare), Sugar, Legos, and the pool.”

A large part of my small amount of brain power every day goes to steering the knucklehead away from sugar. 🤦‍♂️

The Money Spent Selling Sugar to Americans is Staggering Why do people eat what they eat? Choice has little to do with it.

Footwork. Make your footsies stronger!

Its easy and cheap to eat healthy in Lexington! Everyone always says its so hard and expensive to eat healthy. Not true. Traffic is minimal in this city-if youve ever lived anywhere else you know this. You can get to all these grocery stores in very little time. Ill try to filter through some of the Ads each week and point out some of the better deals. My idea of healthy might be different than yours(just eat real food-is a good place to start) but ill try to point out variety.

Good luck in Uruguay. Awesome offseason- your hard work pays off again! First game there: 18 points in 20 minutes and a win!

Might be too late to vote but you can still exercise and get a cool sticker before they are gone!

I've been trying to dream up some good paleo workout ideas. Found a solid one in the paper the other day.
