A Kentucky athletic trainer saved a fan's life. It wasn't his first When Dean Geary was just starting as an athletic trainer in the 1980s, he also volunteered on the Jessamine County rescue squad, where he encountered many emergencies.

On February 10, 2026, we will hold a team meeting with Coach Garr at 6:00 PM in the WJHS Cafeteria.

🐎 Welcome Home, Coach Garr! 🐎

We are proud to announce that Rick Garr has been named Head Coach of the West Jessamine High School Lady Colts Soccer Program!

A West Jessamine alumnus and longtime member of our local soccer community, Coach Garr brings over eight years of coaching experience at the high school and elite club levels. He previously served as an assistant coach with the Lady Colts and has led teams with Central Kentucky Storm.

In 2025, Coach Garr led his club team to a historic Kentucky State Championship — the first girls soccer state title ever for Jessamine County 🏆 That same year, he was named 2025 Kentucky Youth Soccer Competitive Coach of the Year.

His teams are known for their work ethic, resilience, and commitment to excellence — both on and off the field.

Coach Garr and his family have chosen to build their lives right here in the West Jessamine community, and he is passionate about developing confident, disciplined young women through strong culture, accountability, and leadership.

We’re excited for the future of Lady Colts Soccer as he builds on our tradition and leads the next chapter. Let’s go, Colts! 💙⚽️🐎
