Atlanta Isshinryu Karate

Hello Everyone,

On November 19th, Atlanta Isshinryu conducted a Kyu rank testing. All candidates exhibited good karate and a strong karateka spirit.

The following promotions were granted:

Marshall O’Connor - San Kyu, 3rd grade Brown Belt

Santiago Hernandez - Yon Kyu, 4th grade Purple Belt

Edgar Yuman - Go Kyu, 5th grade Green Belt

Atlanta Isshinryu was honored to teach a seminar at Grand Master Eddie Berrian’s Georgia Chung Do Kwan school in Lilburn, Ga.

GM Berrian teaches traditional Chung Do Kwan with a focus on diligent practice and respect. Excellent school.

On Saturday, June 8th, Sensei Steve Collins and Santiago Hernandez represented Atlanta Isshinryu at Sensei Mark Rudd’s annual South Alabama Karate Open in Andalusia, Alabama.

As always, it was a great tournament with strong competition. We’ll look forward to next year’s event!

Atlanta Isshinryu attended the 2023 South Alabama Karate Open on Saturday, June 10th. As always, it was a terrific event with great competition.

March 09th Roko Kyu Rank Test

Congratulations to Mr. Santiago Hernandez and Mr. Edgar Yuman on their recent promotions to Roko Kyu - 6th Grade Blue Belt. Both men did well and demonstrated a lot of heart. Good job!
